As I have mentioned before, Marvel/Disney is doing serious due diligence these days, in terms of getting royalty payments made. But sometimes this can have a rather humorous effect. Case in point, yesterday I received an email from them, with an attached PDF of the latest royalty statements. It ran thirty-four (34!) pages, and the total, way down at the bottom was... less than $400! All those pages were filled with listings of multiple payments of 4¢, 8¢, 6¢ and so on.

I kid you not!

A long way from the Marvel of yore, who would tell me they "couldn't keep track" of all the uses of my work!

Well, I suppose that is better than they were doing.

If only you received retroactive payments for all the years when you should have received royalties and Marvel didn't own up to it. Ah well, nice to know some things do change for the better.

Question JB, on those 34 itemized pages does it list the reference for your royalty?

It likely cost Marvel more than $400 in wages to put together that PDF.

Happy for you John!

You must be glad to hear that the Dark Phoenix movie is coming out, not for viewing purposes, but for the boost to the ol' bank account!

That remains to be seen. If this was a DC movie, I would arrange for an expansion of my money bin. Since it's Marvel, tho, even in these enlightened times I doubt the rewards will be so high. I received less for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST than I did for SUPERMAN vs BATMAN!!

I wonder if you recieved anything for this or 40 years ago you had that kind of agreement???
even in high framerate 40 years later they use your material that you made for one purpose(to publish a comic book ) and they used it to create an introdactory for their movies!!! Stills are taken from their late film Logan....
