I haven't liked a single thing that man has done so far but as this IS basically Galaxy Quest, it looks OK and I might give it a go.

Adrienne Palicki is stuck doing this crap? After having so many other options..? That alone makes this a tragedy in the making.

Looks very promising if they can sustain the joke over an entire series.

BTW, I long ago gave up arguing over what is funny or not. It's entirely subjective what tickles a person's funnybone. What appeals to you might not appeal to me and vice versa - doesn't mean someone is wrong*. Same with music.

*One has to be careful. I once told someone that, personally, I didn't find Friends funny and he took that for me saying that I hated Friends and thought it was rubbish rather than what I actually said. So many people love that show that it very obviously wasn't rubbish, and I certainly had no reason to 'hate' the show...if anything I felt sorry that I couldn't get the humour and share in the joke.

The trailer suggests that the entire show is going to hinge on just Seth MacFarlane's comedic acting. Which isn't that great anyways.

This will either be the biggest comedy hit of the year or the show that gets cancelled the quickest.

There's not going to be much middle ground....

I dunno - I think this looks pretty great.  So long as the stories are solid, they can mine any number of good jokes out of them.  I'm also sort of surprised that I like this, too, since I've never liked Family Guy or any other cartoon he's done.  For a long time, I thought I disliked them (for personal reasons), but it turns out it was just the particular tone and reference humor that landed flat for me.  His SNL stint was revelatory in that regard - great presence, and the right project could really work.  This could be that project.

Having been surprised by how much I enjoyed A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST I may try to give this a look, tho I am also unsure that the joke can be maintained over a full series.

Palicki was a major player on Agents of SHIELD and recently filmed a pilot for a spin-off that didn't go to series. She was also at one time Wonder Woman in a pilot that didn't go to series.

All happened in full view and was publicly reported, btw.

Now she's, what? Character no. 8 on the call sheet of a moron-based Star Trek parody; the shrewish fishwife of an incompetent dullard.

Powerless was very, very bad for making fun of sacred comic book icons. Taking a whiz all over Star Trek, though? Ha! What fun! Who doesn't make fun of that loser franchise, right? Right! Hahaha!

It's not like McFarlane is even trying to be original here. I remember this show back when it was Quark.

I like McFarlane as a performer, the production looks slick, and the preview made me chuckle on several instances.  On the other hand, I have so little interest in STAR TREK that a satire is mostly lost on me. This will at least be on my "check it out" list, the first new network show since 2015 that even vaguely piqued my interest.

So she went from being in two pilots that never saw the light of day to being co-lead, with Seth McFarlane, on a Fox sitcom?

Sounds like a step up to me.

Two failed pilots -- and, of course, in Hollywood the Talent is never blamed for such things.

Far too soon to tell if this is whizzing on STAR TREK (at least any more than did the aforementioned GALAXY QUEST), or that it has any more in common with QUARK than being a space comedy.
