Speaking of inspiration. I think we know what inspired this image by Pascal Blanché.

This Galactus commission by JB...... WOW!!
***
I meant to say earlier -- just as JB "owns" the Thing, he also "owns" Galactus. To quote the old song, nobody does it better.

Personally (I've probably said this too often!), I think JB "owns" Wolverine too, 'specially out of costume:

It was the above commission that gave me what I needed to go ahead with my request to recreate the death of Guardian scene. I needed something to give it oomph since the original panel was not an action scene, but when I saw the grey tones on this one, I thought "That's it!"

Him too. Or at least he "owns" Logan as much as Dave Cockrum does.

I don't think I've seen that Logan shot before. I love seeing the added grey tones.

JB's grey tones not only rock my world, but (and this is scary to grok), JB's work beyond simple black and white has been rocking my world for more than a quarter of a century.
I LOVED the art on Namor and a major part of that was the beautiful duo-tone. The use of grey-tones on the commissions outdoes even that. I don't think there is a single grey-tone commission that I don't think is brilliant.

In light of the price this piece just closed at auction, I give you Death Dealer 6 by Frank Frazetta.
