NFL Draft tonight who's watching?
Any players or positions that you hope your team will be taking in round 1?

The Cleveland Browns are on the clock... so here in the Land, we're all quite excited. Looks as if our boy is Myles Garrett, which is okay with me. I really don't want a QB at #1... it seems to usually not work out so well.

I want the Bears to grab Mitchell Trubisky at #3.  Odds are they'll ignore the QB position in this draft though.....AGAIN.

I suspect that Pace will pick a player in the 1st round with health questions.....AGAIN.  Just like the last 2 years.

Going to the Bears draft party event at Soldier Field
tonight...I really have no idea where they are going to
go with the #3 pick...they have so many areas of need at
this point.

I don't think they would have missed out on him by staying at #3. Gave
up a lot...and a lot of jobs on the line with this pick. If it works, it's
genius...if not...it's typical Bears.

Now with the Giants second and third picks. I hope they address the offensive line issues. If there is a quality player available. Also look for a Line backer.

I like the Titans' first pick. Could be one of the steals of the draft.

But I'm less than enthused about the Cowboys' first pick, Taco Charlton. I'll reserve judgement until after he has a few games with Dallas under his belt.

Glad to see you got what you wanted, Kevin. Hopefully Trubisky will turn out to be a hell of a stud for the Bears.

Really feel sorry for Garrett, though. Hopefully he does well will the Browns, so a decent team will want him once his contract is up. (He was actually asking the Cowboys to trade up and draft him at one point. I knew that wasn't going to happen, but I feel sorry for anyone forced to play for the Browns.)

I'm going to have so much fun cracking Taco Bell jokes at my friend's expense.

Love picking up Dalvin Cook.  I've watched the kid for years (FSU plays my alma matter Florida every season) and the kid is a stud.  Hate to root for a rival, but he's a Viking now!  SKOL!!!

I'm very happy, albeit very shocked, that the Bears got Trubisky.  The rest of the Bears' draft was less than promising.  Either Pace is a mad genius or a fool.

You know who isn't happy about the Bears signing Trubisky? Mike Glennon. The Bears sent him to the Miller Lite draft party, which was a good sign for him.....until they drafted Trubisky.

Glennon is the starter until he proves otherwise.  If he's a competitor, he;ll go out there with a chip on his shoulder to show the Bears he's "the guy".  If he mopes around and whines about it, then he's useless.

IMO, Glennon was nothing more than a placeholder anyway. Fans knew it, media it, it seems everyone knew it but Glennon.  The Bears were taking a QB in this draft no matter what.  It just so happened to be their 1st pick.  So he needs to go out there and show the team what he's got.  In the end, however, even if he plays out the 3 year deal (doubtful), Trubisky will be the Bears' franchise QB.

Oh, the only problem I have is that it was kind of a dick move to send him to glad hand people at the party if they knew they were drafting a QB, first pick or not.

But I still can't believe what they gave away just to move up one spot and grab a player they knew the team they traded spots with wasn't interested in.

I don't see it as a dick move.  If you have the chance to better the team, you go for it.  Even if it hurts someone's feelings....  If Glennon is a competitor, he'll show the Bears they made a "mistake".  (I don't think they did though.)

The Bears seem to be very clunky in executing their
offseason plans. The question I have is if they
discussed drafting a QB in the first round with Glennon
before he signed as a Free Agent. That's the kind of
information that factors into which team you pick. I'm
inclined to think that they didn't since Coach Fox seems
to have only found out about the plan to do so a couple
of hours before it happened. That's not the way to run a
franchise.

Fox was fully aware of the who the Bears were going to draft.  He was part of the group that went to NC to visit Trubisky for the private work out.  The media assuming he wasn't part of the process is asinine.
