I don't disagree, Brian, although I must confess to liking the WWI line.

Not a fan of the outfit- looks a bit too children's tv to me!
Still, hardly the end of the world... I await her performance and hope
she's given some good material to work with.

Which would have been perfect, I guess, had Moffat not started writing for the fans and not the original intended audience. Or do we think that happened before him? I always assumed that RTD worked on more than one level, the Moff not so much.

The 2005 series was intended as a 'family' show, notwithstanding the 'teen and twentysomething'-slanted Ninth Doctor and Rose relationship early on...as well as Captain Jack('Mummy, what's an om-knee sex-ual?')

Was Jack ever referred to as ominisexual in DW or was it just within TORCHWOOD? (For clarity, I'm not disagreeing that as Jack's character developed we started getting a wink and nod to the adult audience that was not there before, but can't recall how explicit it was.)

In the Empty Child, the Doctor says directly in dialogue that Jack is an omnisexual.  Of course after that 2 parter, he seems pretty much dude-centric from then on out.

Thus was born 'the RTD Agenda'.
