Thought maybe the movie buffs might find
this story interesting, even if you're not
a gearhead. The rumor has been around for
a number of years about the one remaining
Mustang used in the filming of Bullitt
having survived and being in private
hands. This car, however, appears to be
one that was believed scrapped after
filming.

Still hoping Ford does a 'Bullitt' version of the new Mustang.

Supposedly in the works for the movie's 50th anniversary.

Odd.  I thought the guys from Pawn Stars bought it.  I seem to recall it being verified by a family remember and everything.  I might be thinking of a different McQueen vehicle though....

Kevin, that could have been a clone. There were supposedly 2 cars used in filming and one was thought scrapped. The ownership of the other can be traced through maybe the 1970s and then went underground so to speak. The owner is known by at least one person in the Mustang community, but he is adamant about remaining anonymous and has turned down various offer and overtures to either sell or show his car. The car that was found in Mexico is the second car that was believed scrapped.

I loved Bullitt.  One of my faves.

But I'm the weird guy who stops drooling over the highland green Mustang about mid-way thru the chase....and starts drooling over that big, badass black Charger.

Brawny. As. F#ck.
