I loved the Next Men. The first anthology was ground breaking and even the second series held up well, but the third one felt like kind of picking up loose ends. Jazz gets plugged back into the greenery, but whatever happened to Danny? Inquiring minds want to know. Did you ever have an idea where he ended up?

We know exactly what happened to Danny. We found out in the issues published by IDW

While I enjoyed the IDW issues, I didn't like how Danny's ultimate fate happened off panel (and was barely mentioned thereafter).

Spoiler:
(In answer to your question, Danny was eaten by a dinosaur).

JB's NEXT MEN is my favorite indy series. Some of his finest work.
I think the strength of the series is the storytelling and characters, but I need to do a big shout out for the art in this series. It's gritty without being gloomy, realistic while capturing a fantastic and surreal world.

I agree Tim. I believe it may be JB's best work.

I loved the work. But perhaps it was the time in between and my own aging that damaged the return for me. I was never able to get into the IDW issues. Loved the art, but the story didn't resonate or grab me. I had such high hopes.

I wish a third phonebook would be done collecting the last issues.

I lack the language to describe what a relief the IDW series was. It was so great getting some closure on my favorite series after so long.

Uh oh… You guys are making a really big mistake by starting a new thread about JBNM. Everyone knows that's my favorite John Byrne series! I enjoyed the entire series, and those first 31 issues are about as close to comic book perfection as you can get!
