Does there have to be a choice? Nice thing is there's room to enjoy them equally.

Hey guys,
I know these questions can tend to come off snarky. Not the intention.
Just to clarify, it's not a whose better than who question, but just who do you prefer. Like Matt asked, does there have to be a choice, not really. Just curious to whose style you gravitate towards within the crime genre they worked in, or both. Just looking for your thoughts.
So far, good thought being posted by all.

Own all the PARKER novels... ********* That's next on my list. I'd love to find some nice used versions on the cheap.

I'm not sure how to compare the two; they're both going for very different effects.•• Pretty much what I would say.

Own all the PARKER novels and I still bought Cooke's books. Love them all. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best comics adaption from any form (movies, TV, novels, et al).

Everything Kevin Brown said…
(By the by… Have any of you listened to the PARKER audiobooks? The first narrator is perfect for those stories!)

Robert I'd argue against the notion that the comedy in Sin City was unintentional.

one's an adaption the other is original so hard to compare. I do much prefer the Parker novels….to just about anything!

Frank Miller's artwork was not to my liking. Despite all the hoopla of his Daredevil and Dark Knight back in the day I kinda hated his work. I did finally give Sin City a try after a few TBPs had come out, and really liked it, and I developed an appreciation for his style- but never a love.
I -Love- Darwyn Cooke's art. I was already following his stuff before his first Parker book came out, so his storytelling ability there just blew me away. Because of him I pursued and currently own/have read all the Parker novels (and the Grofields too).
