Maybe in the next film, Luke will be falling (because people seem to do that a lot in Star Wars films) and Rey will be able to save him because magical force wings will pop out of her back. Then Luke can sputter in dismay, "B-But I don't have wings!" and Rey can giggle, "Of course not, silly! You're a boy Jedi!"
And then there can be this Kyber Crystal shard that everyone is after...

Don't forget that Jedi Kyber crystals are now the canonical power-source for the Death Star's superlaser. And that the thermal exhaust port "flaw" was deliberately built-in as an act of sabotage.

I'm OK with Kyber crystals being the power-source of the Death Star.
But then, I liked Rogue One in general

Please refrain from posting story rumors about the upcoming film - some rumors may be true, and it would spoil the film for those of us looking forward to seeing this.
Thank you!

Tim, my post was a humorous reference to Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal, not a reported or rumored spoiler of any kind.

Speaking of which, I just watched this interesting and lengthy video analysis (a follow-up to a similar video on TFA), which points out why ROGUE ONE is so poorly written and executed:

Not a great deal of buzz about this movie at the STAR WARS websites I regularly visit, either. strange, when one takes into account the release of the movie just a few weeks away. Very peculiar.

I don’t know about other people, but I’ve mostly just been avoiding all interviews, new trailers, and Reddit discussions so as not to be exposed to spoilers. Silence doesn’t indicate lack of interest, but wanting to go into the movie fresh. Knowing that the movie is about Porgs is enough.

Saw a short trailer. Nothing that looked of felt like STAR WARS. Doom and gloom.

What, you were expecting THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK AGAIN to be full of sunshine and gumdrops? Not bloody likely!
It's possible that the new film will serve as a course-correction from TFA's flaws, but I fully expect more of the same, with Luke being used as a mouthpiece to validate Rey's girl power and awesomeness. And, plenty of rehashes/repaints of characters, vehicles, and ideas from EMPIRE and JEDI.
Anyway, here's some more food for thought. This gent can't spell, but he makes valid points:

Despite a few surface similarities, I've heard The Last Jedi has a radically different structure from The Empire Strikes Back - and every other Star Wars movie. Plus, many have commented that this is Mark Hamill's best performance as Luke Skywalker.
I'm so ready to watch and judge for myself!!

This will be the first SW Trilogy movie I have skipped seeing in the theater since 1977...
After Force Awakens, "fool me once..."

I have somewhat pithily asked how long into 'The Last Jedi' it would be before people remember what a mediocre actor Hammill really is.

Maybe in your opinion John, but not in a lot of other people’s.
The Joker cannot be argued against in my opinion, regardless of what one thinks of his turns in some movies

Well, I purchased my ticket. So, hopefully it will be enjoyable. I was able to enjoy THE FORCE AWAKENS well enough, but I agree with many of the criticisms about it being mostly a rehash. ROGUE ONE literally put me to sleep. But, I hold some hope (a "new" hope? Hah!) for THE LAST JEDI. If it's no better than TFA, though, I may skip seeing the final part of this trilogy in the theaters.

Watched it yesterday. Some things are great, others a bit meh. Obviously won't go into spoilers, but enjoyed it overall. I think this one's going to bring heated debates about Star Wars, the jedi and the force like never before. If I had to sum it up in one word, it'd have to be: unexpected.

I just watched a year-old YouTube video from Cracked.com about the Prequels... and I suddenly had a horrible thought about not only the true parentage of Rey, but also maybe a twist on Luke's.
Now I'm hoping these aren't going to be some of the twists of THE LAST JEDI. I won't bother posting what I think they are right now, but... *shudder* I'll wait until after I see the film.

This film will divide viewers. It has divided me. At this point, I think I like less bits of the film than bits I do like.
EDIT: I've not written this correctly. There is more of this film that I DO NOT like, than there is that I like.
I'm disappointed
