Paul Kupperberg just informed me that he has encountered buzz on social media about an unnamed comicbook artist attending the Trump Dump in Washington. This has evidently got people guessing about who this might be, with the leading contenders being Frank Miller and... me!

Now, I realize most fans do not have a clue about the real lives of the people whose work they follow, but this is wild. Putting Frank and me into anything remotely like the same pocket politically is like.... Well, it's so absurd there is no equivalent.

I have no idea what Frank was doing yesterday, but I was nowhere near Our Nation's Capitol.

Doesn't matter, JB.... according to Trump and his crew, you... and millions more, attended his Inaugeration.

“This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration -- period,” Trump White House press secretary falsely claims.

And that was right after he said the National Parks service didn't keep up with the actual arrendence.

Jesus, this is gonna be a rough and long four years.

I wonder. If you were to look at TV audiences around the world, I wonder if he is correct.

It's certainly the first one my family in the UK has sat through.

And can we stop saying 'give him a chance, that was just rhetoric' now please?

People said he wouldn't get nominated - he did
People said he wouldn't win - he did

People say he will change his stance - on what basis do they think this? You would only say this if you thought the stuff he was saying was crazy.
But guess what? He actually is.
He's going to repeal those laws
He's going to build that wall
He's going to step away from climate change
He's going to step away from those trade agreements

He's going to do it all!
Everything he said he was going to do, he's going to do

Neil, just to be clear (because, rereading my post, you could take it as either supporting or not supporting Trump)

I don't support him
I think he is now the most dangerous man alive
I am as worried now, as I was scared in the early '80's
I think he bare faced lies, makes stuff up, just avoids providing real answers by force of will
and lastly, I think he is everything he is railing against and has hoodwinked his supporters

He may understand how business works (and his bankruptcy casts doubt on some of that)  but he clearly has no clue how the military thinks - and that is my main concern

Sorry, sarcasm doesn't go very well online. I was just making a joke. I just hope he holds up his promise by surrounding himself with the "best people".

We've already seen the type of people with whom he is surrounding himself. Is that really your only hope? Oh, wait. Sarcasm.

With all the ho-ho sarcasm, blindly reposted false reports, and "funny news" items out there, the opposition is in serious danger of making all of the Trump supporters' arguments for them.

Forthright, honest speech would be of the most use to us now. It's something the other side can only pretend to.

I understand that now is not the time for us to lose our humor, but we also need to be clear in what we are saying. Otherwise, the point of the joke is either lost or all-too easily twisted.

I'd place my money on Ethan Van Sciver as being one of the two.

Hmm...I don't think it would have been Frank Miller either judging by how the latest issue of his Dark Knight series takes a thinly veiled swipe at Trump.

I think they were either just pulling names out of a hat or maybe choosing the most famous of names for internet hits, and saying oh, 'it was probably them.' Anything to get a bit of clickbait...

Van Sciver is about the biggest well known comic artist that's Republican. I think Mike S. Miller is too but he's not on the level of Van Sciver popularity wise. That said, neither of those guys are on the level of JB or Frank Miller. There aren't many right wing comic artists but I don't see how anyone that knows anything about JB would ever think he's a right winger.
