So many of you (my facebook friends especially) know I
have met a lot of pros and have a lot of signed
comics. Unfortunately, I never got to meet Jim Aparo,
nor have I gotten around to buying one of his pages
yet, but I did just pick up this signed comic, and
since I was such a big fan of his (and apparently of
run-on sentences too), I wanted to share it with you.
Thank you very much!

P. S. Jim Starlin signed it too.

Here is the cover. I am going to get Mike Zeck to sign
it too.

That's cool. Aparo was the primary artist on Batman when I started reading comics and as a result he's the artist I most associate with the character. When someone says "Batman", it's Aparos version that immediately springs to mind.

Aparo was so good. I delivered his mail once! He lived in my town. Super weird to find that out.

Jim Aapro - yes, because Jim Aparo. I still use some of his Batman drawings when I shave. A true classic, and I can wish he'd have done more Superman, or some Marvel work - IIRC, he did a Captain America pinup and a Scarlet Witch pinup, and that's about it. (Because I would dance on the ceiling to see an Aparo Fantastic Four... undoubtedly almost as good as Mr. Byrne's!)

I remember 'discovering' Jim's work in a 100 page Brave and the Bold issue. He was the Batman artist for me (well, until I saw Neal's version, then Don Newton's).

Aparo also is one of my favorite Batman artists, if not my favorite. I discovered him through his issues of Brave and Bold, but early fans will remember him also for Aquaman and The Spectre. Years after enjoying an issue of Charlton's The Phantom (when I was a kid and didn't pay much attention to credits), I learned it was drawn by him. His art had a lot to do with my enjoyment of that comic. It is too bad he didn't draw any Marvel characters. It would have been cool to see him do a crossover with Batman and Captain America, for example. Just as it was cool to see JB's versions of various DC characters when he came over to DC and drew Legends.

I'm a big fan of Jim Aparo.

I think he was always a little underratedand and I can't understand why. His work is top-notch and when you think about the staggering amount of work he has done... I don't understand why he is never mentioned as one of the greatest.

Ten Nights of the Beast is one of my favourites Batman stories of all times. I'm very sad that other writers didn't knew how to handle KGBeast and have turned him into a very minor dumb character.

I missed a lot this version of Batman... he was a lot more human and he had weaknesses like the rest of the humans... He could be beaten or outsmarted! He was not the invincible bat-god he is portrayed these days.

Has anyone ever been in contact with Aparo? It would be nice if you can share your experience or tell us something about him...

Batman never looked better than in the Brave and the Bold issues he penciled and inked.

Those early 70s Jim Aparo Brave and the Bolds looked as good as anything Neal Adams was doing at the time!

I love Aparo's Batman. That's a good get, Ted.
