Great catch Ted!

I LOVE those Charlton covers by Staton!
And JB's stuff - while perhaps somewhat stylistically still in development - still has and amazing energy to it. There's something special about it, for sure!

(To this day, the only episode I recall is when someone got their big toe stuck up the tub faucet.)

Cool find... never realized JB did any "Emergency" art. Let alone that there ever was a comic book of said TV show!

I've seen one of these because I have a friend who's a Jack Webb expert (He even wrote a biography of Jack)who has a copy. I've tried to impress upon him the importance of this comic for its Artist! Someday I'm going to make him let me borrow it and give it a read.

...and give it a read.

Don't expect much! Not only is it very early days for me, the issue was heavily stepped on by the studio.

As I was working on it, it struck me that the firemen were acting more like cops. When the studio saw the finished issue, they agreed, and ordered it heavily rewritten and redrawn -- not by me! The lead characters were replaced in several important scenes, giving the story an oddly schizo feel.

Wow - I had this issue as a kid, and am now just finding out this was JB!  I had it long before I read credits.  Reading your work goes back even further than I thought!
