Happy Birthday!

I haven't watched his Dracula in a looong time; how's it hold up?

It's got its pros & cons, Thom... great production value, mostly a solid cast and atypically gothic score from John Williams... though it's not very scary, there are some casting missteps (the 1979 DRACULA features one of my least favorite Renfields), and there are some unintentionally dippy and/or humorous scenes.

Be sure to give it another rental, if only for the extras, which feature a priceless Langella interview where he claims he lost track of how many times numerous husbands told him how amorous their wives were, right after seeing him perform as Dracula on Broadway!

A fascinating career arc, from devilishly handsome leading men to sinister villains.

Here's hoping he's fit and healthy enough to last another decade or so.

The best stage actor I've ever seen, by far.

Happy birthday indeed!!

Did anyone read his book.  It was pretty hilarious.

When people ask him about Masters of the Universe he says something like "I didn't do it for the money, I did it for an OBSCENE amount of money."

Happy Birthday!

Sums up how crap films get made in one sentence. Michael Caine did the same for JAWS 4 - how did no one make the decision 'This is crap, let's not do it'
