Does everyone remember this wonderful fanzine from 1981/82?  I don't recall too many mainstream fanzine books being published at the time, at least never seen any in my local comic shop except for Amazing Heroes which started in 1981(?) and had a Byrne FF cover.  I know there were others but I am no expert.

This FantaCo FF Chronicles is the first fanzine type book that I recall buying & it was absolutely the greatest!  FF, always being my favorite comic, I just had to buy this when I spotted it in my LCS.  It had me at that magnificent Byrne FF wraparound cover...so beautiful!!  Byrne did that iconic center-spread that later became a poster & Perez did a nice piece as well.

Here is a link to an interesting article I found about the process of making this book...http://www.rogerogreen.com/2007/08/28/chronicles-of-t he-fantastic-four-chronicles/...if anyone is interested.  Cannot get the link function to work so you will have to copy and paste it into your browser.

"...Perez did a nice piece as well"

I love me some George Perez, but the body language of every character in that piece is wrong to me. Thanks for the link though. I love discovering "new" JB stuff!

I like the Perez piece, a warm, fuzzy at home feel for the FF. No villains, no action poses, just a peaceful moment.

Can't agree with that!

I recall that issue very well indeed, I just recently bought a second copy that I came across because my old one is a bit 'not mint'.

I love this vintage of JB and seeing his colouring is always a treat.
His coloured Spider-Man cover for this series blew my mind back then because he hadn't done much Spider-Man at that point.
It also had a Black Cat piece by JB and the Daredevil issue had Elektra by JB.

The Perez cover for The Avengers was a favourite too. There we saw Perez colouring for the first time (previous to his Teen Titans poster I believe)

Great spider-man cover by a very talented individual....
This collection blew me away as a youth (and still does).

I bought the FF Chronicles when new and as I remember now, thought it was great. At the time, I hadn't seen anything like it before. I've not gone back and really looked at it in some time though. I don't remember seeing any of the other FantaCo issues though (love that Perez cover!).

There is also a Daredevil one with Frank Miller cover art and the X-Men with Dave Cockrum cover art.

Thanks Jeff. I should have said "at the time, I didn't realize there were other issues." I have since discovered the others. I do have the Daredevil issue that I found some time later.

Does anyone have information about the FantaCo Annual from 1983?  Curious what is inside, have only seen the cover online.
