There were only 2 other audience members left in the theater for the after-credits scene, when I saw it a week ago.

Reminds me of when I saw BIG HERO 6, and a lot of people got up and left saying that film "wasn't a Marvel movie, so there wouldn't be an after credits scene"...

Just got back from seeing it. A fun little movie. The animation was incredible.

And yes, we stayed till the end. He was right.

Took our two-year-old to see it, one of his first movies in a theater. He enjoyed it and was able to follow the story, although he was worried when the pig fell off the raft, and was really upset when the pig left the movie altogether.

"Where's the pig?"
"He'll be back later."
(pause)
"WHERE'S THE PIG?"
"He's okay. He'll be back later."
(crying) "WHERE'S THE PIG?!"

We had to take a little break from the theater at that point, but calmed him down enough to watch the rest of the movie without incident. That was some pig.

Just got back for seeing this film.  Wonder!  The story, the humor, the music.  Also, I saw Nathan was involved as well.

I took my five year old son and his six year old cousin to see Moana. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it as it didn't seem like one I'd enjoy based on the trailer. The main song in it was pretty catchy too. It was a pretty good year of Disney animation between this and Zootopia.

But the fogey in me still loves hand-drawn animation.  Alas, when a CGI movie looks as good as this one, I realize the war is long lost.

***

The sequence during the latter part of 'You're Welcome' sees the characters interacting with what is faux-hand drawn animation making them look almost human.

"Mini-Maui", Maui's tattoo/conscience was hand-drawn.
