It's getting real in Wakanda!  And it's glorious!

Tons of pics and stuff at the links.

I consider Black Panther to be a personal birthday present to me (debuting in February, days after my birthday), from the Gods of movies and comics.

Thank you.

I've skipped quite a few Marvel movies recently. This does *not* look skippable.

The color and energy radiating from these costumes is magnificent.

This does look pretty amazing.  And like it may at least partially silence the critics who say that all the Marvel movies are just cookie cutter reproductions of one another.  This looks like a good example of the everything about the movie being shaped by the lead character.

It looks awesome, but why did they make Killmonger's jaguar outfit a golden version of the Black Panther suit? It's yet another MCU villain who is an evil copy of the hero.

The guys at Double Toasted give their review of the trailer: LINK!

This movie is one of the films I am looking most forward to in the coming months (more than STAR WARS, too).

It makes the Inhumans stink like a trash panda.

Iron Panther looks like it could be a good movie. For me it was always more interesting when the heroes, based on training and skills, had to avoid getting shot.

Wow, I can't find anything to not like in this trailer. Looks like we get a good
villain(Klaw and Killmonger I think) and the Panther looks great as does
Wakanda. Good casting, Everett Ross, looks like everything's there.
Maybe King Solomon's frogs will turn out to be another infinity stone?
I'm excited!

Did anyone else notice that Killmonger 's suit looked a lot like Jack Kirby 's original Coal Tiger design?

anything to not like

Looks like Panther will be fighting an evil twin at some point in the film. Lame.

It looks amazing but it's hard for me to not want to see anything with Martin Freeman in it anyway. (Martin Freeman AND Benedict Cumberbatch in the MCU. When will we have a "Sherlock moment" with them together, I wonder.)

Evil twin...?

NOT AN EVIL TWIN. HE HAS TO FIGHT M'BAKU. I mean, that's close to an evil twin, I guess... and entirely different too.

I remain optimistic about this film, in any case.

There's a point in the trailer when he appears to be fighting a guy dressed in a cat suit. Evil twin.

As many of noted, this film appears to be based on plot-points from Christopher Priest's run (with the addition of Shuri and many of the viaual aspects of Reggie Hudlin's run). Killmonger, the character Michael B. Jordan is playing was shown in the Priest run as wanting to ursurp control of Wakanda from T'Challa and, at one point, due to inadvertent interference from Ross, Killmonger wins a fight and does indeed become the new Black Panther (but T'Challa remained King, as these were two separate titles under Priest, thought it has since been declared one and the same). Killmonger even hilariously attempted to take T'Challa's place as member of the Avengers during that time.

Priest also spoke on his reasons for T'Challa's upgraded suit.

I defer to Stan Lee, whose bedrock for this character was he was a man who outsmarted Reed Richards and out-fought the Thing. Those key notes seemed missing from McGregor’s Panther, and to me Stan (whom I do know) is Moses; his original concepts are the stone tablets of modern comics.

Thus, it made absolutely no sense to me that Panther wouldn’t at least nominally protect himself from things like small arms fire or stabbing weapons, and that, at the very least, he’d carry an iPhone (which is what his Kimoyo card essentially is).

The fan outrage was unexpected and a little off-putting, considering how poorly supported Panther has traditionally been. It seemed to me like, “We’re not actually going to buy any Black Panther comics, but how dare you make him smarter and more technologically advanced! Bring back the plain old spandex and get rid of the gadgets!”

I'd just consider it a matter of visual perspective. They are close in height (Marvel wikis say she's 6'7" and he's 6'6") and from the angle we're looking at them, he's closer to "us," and she's leaning into the door, not standing straight up, so it may look like he's a bit taller when he isn't.

She-hulk is obviously bent over.
