Two issues.

ITEM: For the king of Wakanda, the "gangsta" style music seems completely off. Classic, maybe, or mood music - sure. Rap music? Not so much. *I'm 56 so if I'm using the wrong terms... screw it. YOU know what I'm talking about.

ITEM: God damn this f***ing ARMOR!!! Yes, T'Challa's out fit could easily be bulletproof... Cap's shield is made of vibranium and it's bulletproof.

But the Black Panther is NOT about walking into a hail of bullets. It's about him dodging a hail of bullets... IF the shooter sees him at all. "How could we have missed? We emptied an entire clip at him!" "Hey, where'd he go - UGH!"

The Black Panther is silence, stealth, and subtlety... not Wolverine in black. I hope that scene is either the exception or is cut.

I'm not well versed on Black Panther from the comics; prior to his appearance in CIVIL WAR, it never occurred to me that his suit could be bullet proof.  However, if you're the king of a nation whose primary claim to fame is a rare, super-strong metal, of course your costume should be made of it.  And if you're wearing a suit that is bullet proof, why bother dodging bullets?

Isn't the whole point of Vibranim that it absorbs kinetic energy?

Eric, I think the music in the trailer works extremely well, and helps sell the overall tone.  I wouldn't even call it "gangsta," just modern rap or hip-hop.  Nothing wrong with it.

That music is from Run the Jewels new album.  They, and Killer Mike in particular, are far more political than gangsta.  I think its a good fit for a movie that I imagine will involve a certain amount of political intrigue.

As I noted upthread, this movie seems to be using a lot from the
Christopher Priest run, from Everett K. Ross to the Dora Milaje to the
political intrigue between the Wakandan tribes. In that run, Black
Panther could stand in a hail of machine gun bullets and be unaffected,
because his vibranium armor would absorb all the kinetic energy of the
bullets. So I'd expect that bit to be in the movie as well.

Okay let's say that Panther wouldn't feel the impact. If that's the case then let's consider the human factor. What your reaction be if someone fired a gun at you? Would you stand there or try to move out of the way? It could just be gut instinct.

I think the answer to this question can be summoned up perfectly with the response that Superman gave Jimmy Olson. About why he comes thru the wall instead of using the door. "It's more dramatic Jimmy" ( some context  that's from George Reeve's Adventures of Superman)
