The world's biggest idiot just found a way to make himself an even bigger idiot.
Anyone want to try to predict his next Darwin Award worthy decision?

Apparently, air and water pollution are good for our health and the economy.

Thanks for nothing, Trump.

EDIT TO ADD: Apparently, the earliest Trump could give written notice of withdrawal would be November 4, 2019. That withdrawal wouldn’t take effect until one year later, on November 4, 2020, exactly one day after the next presidential election - ensuring an election-year issue of climate change and the Paris Accords.

Looks like Trump may use executive order to keep Comey from testifying.

 http://www.politico.com/story/2017/06/02/kellyanne-con way-trump-james-comey-testimony-239061?cmpid=sf

a) surely this can't be fucking legal
b) how much more evidence does the American people need to see he's a lying asshole that had Russia in bed with him to win the election? Jesus Christ, he fired the man in charge of the investigation, now he's trying to do everything in his power to keep him from talking.

Let's say he does issue the order and Comey talks anyway, does anything happen to Comey?

"Privilege disappears altogether when there is any reason to believe government misconduct occurred."

Legal experts are skeptical Trump could successfully invoke the privilege to muzzle Comey because he's already written a letter about their conversations, talked about them publicly and even tweeted about them!

It would appear to the objective observer, regardless of
their political beliefs, that the continual minimizing,
denials and active moves to suppress or even dodge
questions and investigations..... that there may be
something to hide. Where there's smoke...

I have been willing, to some extent, to give Trump and his cronies some benefit of the doubt regarding all these Russian connections.  That something shifty went on seems clear, but whether it amounted to something criminal, treasonous or impeachable is less certain.  Decades of Clinton "scandals" are proof the allegations and investigations do not equate to guilt.  Yet the Trump administration surely is acting guilty.

 QUOTE:
"Privilege disappears altogether when there is any reason to believe government misconduct occurred."

Charles, where this quote from? I may not be looking hard enough but I can't find it in any of the recently linked articles or on the board.

It isn't true. As the article you linked to makes clear, "privilege" has a complicated legal history. I'm not qualified to expound upon it, but know enough to state executive privilege rarely "disappears altogether" — it can be overridden in specific circumstances; such an override wouldn't be all-encompassing — and the standard of evidence to convince a court to overrule privilege when invoked is much, much higher than "any" suspicion of misconduct. The article you linked to cites the DC Circuit Court's standard as “demonstrably critical to the responsible fulfillment of the Committee’s function.”

According to the a lawyer/lobbyist friend who explained it to me, the greatest obstacle most presidencies encounter invoking privilege is their own sense of how Nixonian it is to do so. Something tells me Trump won't be too concerned about the appearances, though.

David, the quote is from another article, from CNN I believe, where the author cited the DC Circuit stating that reasoning. Also, this article brings
the same reasoning up...

Thanks. In context it appears the author is correct (...the non-lawyer typed haughtily about an article by a Harvard Law Review editor).

Privilege within privilege...

Fired FBI Director James Comey is set to speak on matters concerning the Trump and Russia today, and people are popping the proverbial popcorn! (I'm guessing each side will hear only what they want to hear.)

read this on twitter...

"On trial today: THE RULE OF LAW IN AMERICA."

Sounds about right.
