The way this administration is being run, whomever is #1 on the FBI's most wanted listed will be the next director....

So... Comey screwed Hillary, and then started working over Trump... who responded by firing him. I guess Comey is lucky this isn't the early 20th century... he could well have been the victim of a tragic accident.
Trump is going to twist and thrash on the hook, it seems, as the investigation gets closer and closer to the truth, and firing those (or transferring them, demoting them... whatever to get them off the case) without realizing that those discharges are more proof of his guilt... after the fact.
One wonders when the Republicans are going to turn on Trump. It can't be long now.

With the firing of Comey, I'm fully expecting the new director, whomever it is, to re-name the FBI the "Protection Squadron"....

As outrageous as Comey's firing is, there's a good chunk of America that hates the FBI and are likely applauding it. They voted for Trump to tear sh*t up in Washington, and that's exactly what he's doing.

Did not the Democrats demand Comey's head months ago? Now he is the only one who could have taken down Trump before he opens the Concentration camps. The sky is falling again I guess. It is foolish to think an investigation like this will disappear with Comey. People on both sides really need to stop talking in the extremes. It is amazing how I hear Trump has failed and got nothing done but has also done so much that the US is one step away from Nazi Germany.

Do you need some extra stuffing for your strawman?
I think both sides of the aisles feel that one way or another Comey mishandled the Clinton investigation. The issue is the timing of Comey's firing, almost 5 months into Trump's administration. What has changed with Comey between January 20th and now?
Of course the investigation will go on without him, but it's certainly a distraction for the FBI having to deal with new leadership, and what message was sent to any future FBI heads who may need to probe further into the Trump administration?

Comey certainly screwed up by talking directly to the press about the Clinton investigation on two separate occasions and deserved to be fired over that, but I don't equate that to sucking at his job.
But does anyone here really believe that Trump fired Comey because he overstepped his bounds with Loretta Lynch and released derogatory information about Clinton with the press? Several months after the fact?

Of course, the GOP narrative is that liberals are two-faced and disliked Comey up until his firing. UGH - they try to spin things while CNN and MSNBC have shown Trump doing EXACTLY the OPPOSITE - praising Comey during the election and only NOW finding him dispensable. (How convenient.)
On the lighter side,TIME reports Trump thinks CNN's Chris Cuomo looks like a "chained lunatic" on television, CNN's Don Lemon is "perhaps the dumbest person is broadcasting" and CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert is a "no-talent guy" who talks "filthy."
