Aren't there still laws against slander and libel? Or can these not be prosecuted against siting government officials?
Both Obamas are attorneys... I figure they know what to do (and might even be planning something... one can hope.)

Eric, not certain of the answer to your question, though both of the Obamas have left the appearance of respecting the office of the presidency. Not sure that they'd sue a sitting president.

Regarding the wiretapping allegation: the sad thing is, Trump knows that if he makes an allegation without evidence then a certain percentage of the population is going to believe it, and continue believing it regardless of what evidence emerges to disprove it. This strategy was honed with the "Obama born in Kenya" crap, and we saw how well that worked. We have a situation where a significant percentage of the country does not care what the truth or the facts are, because they are more concerned with absolute loyalty to their "team" and/or with getting their policy goal (of tax cuts for the rich) enacted at all costs. Trump is not going to be held accountable for any of his outrageous statements or behavior until such point as it either directly damages the lives of his ostensible supporters, or endangers Republican policy goals.

Seems like Trump's version of reality is such that he's being allowed to get away with living in delusion, likely because no one ever challenged him or let him know just how deranged he is. His defense with his alleged wiretap claims is nothing short of saying "I once saw the word 'wiretap' in a dictionary - see - SEE! SEE - they were wiretapping me"!!!

That press conference yesterday is nothing short of embarrassing. I understand that there should be robust questioning and sometimes, sometimes, that can lead to heated debates in the press conference, but this is just Spicer, acting like a little kid, arguing like a little kid.
The damage that guy does on a daily basis to your country

Now they're threatening pre-emptive action against North Korea. Normally I would be all for that, in order to rid of the world of that brutal place but I highly doubt the Trump administration could preemptively tie their own shoelaces.

So, after accusing many respected news organisations of being Fake News and making a huge brouhaha about that, Spicer then presents effectively as fact uncorroborated news from Fox that GCHQ surveilled Trump at the request of Obama.
After GCHQ stated that these comments were 'utterly ridiculous and should be ignored', the US has formally apologised to Britain.
Egg all over face.

Trump's budget cuts of 19 agencies? The grand total it'll save each American over a year's time? A whopping $9.45. Or about 79¢ a month.
And these cuts are going to hit many states HARD. It's like he's trying his best to make sure he has no second term (a good thing!), as well as making sure no Republican ever holds office again.....
Of course, people are stupid. So they'll keep voting against their own interests.

His proposed cuts won't save anyone anything, because the additional amount he proposes spending on defence dwarfs it.

If he continues his weekly Mar-a-Lago trips, that'll cost more than some of the programs he is cutting.

B. There's no "if" about it. It's the "Southern White House" now, not the "Winter White House." He can't be surrounded by sycophants while also lining his pockets with $200K membership fees at Camp David.
