I’m fearful of the scenario Marc brings up, but also of a situation where the election process has become so unreliable with Trump’s army of idiots ensuring hostility at polling stations that other branches of government become involved with awarding the Office of the President.

So the polls have Biden with a massive lead which is nice. But seems his vote mainly comes from mail-in voters. Had no idea so many people did postal votes in America. No wonder Trump has been going so hard against it. What's the latest elections have been called after election day? Are we talking days, weeks?
How near is your polling station to you? I've never lived more than about 2 miles from one although this is a slightly smaller country!

My polling station is one mile from my front door. However, it won’t be open during the hours I can go on Election Day. So, early voting it is.

Polling locations, number of locations per population density and hours of availability are my biggest concern. From hearing these concerns online, this is something that should be standardized nationwide so that there shouldn't even be a need for mail-ins (barring extraordinary circumstances). Here in NY, polls are open for 15 hours (6am-9pm) statewide. To the best of my knowledge, its been like that for decades. Does that differ from state to state? I live in a rural area, but I've never encountered anyone who's been unable to secure a ride to the polls due to distance, and I've never had more than a 5 minute wait. That these cities have so few polling locations where people are lined up like Black Friday shoppers astounds me. by volume alone, I'm not surprised by the horror stories, but it seems like its a self-inflicted problem created by the local/State voting commissions.

I mailed in my vote already. Trump would approve, I suppose, since it's a "requested" ballot, which he says is fine ('cause it's how he votes). He may, however, not be happy with my choice for President.
I was speaking with my mother -- The two of us are politically aligned -- and we both voted by mail this year. She regularly votes by mail, at least since she has gotten older. This is the first year I voted by mail, and I have voted in every Presidential election since I was eligible to vote in 1988's election.
When the hubbub over the USPS and the removal of mail boxes was going down, I remarked to my mother that perhaps the only advantage of us living in a "Red State" is that at least our mail boxes should be safe, despite us not voting the way the majority in our State apparently vote.
My friend, who lives in Kentucky, has had to replace his Biden yard signs several times as local Republicans have stolen them from his yard again and again. Pathetic.

One of the sure fire ways to prove mail in voting, & voting in general, is not to be trusted, is to make the voting In trustworthy yourself.
Dropping unofficial collection boxes all over the place is a good way to do that.
So of course Trump is supporting & encouraging this move, along with encouraging people to vote multiple times.
Evil is a very strong word to accuse someone of being. There are a few people I would use if to describe - various tyrants & despots, drug lords, paedophiles I feel Trump rates that description.

Trump’s strategy at this point is to make the vote invalid by encouraging illegal behavior. As James points out this plan is already in action. He needs the decision about the election to be made in the judicial or legislative branches of government where he will be awarded the presidency.

The same thing happened with my Clinton signs in ‘16. I didn’t even bother this year.

There are independent arbiters of elections who work all over the world. Of course, due to the virus they will have barely any representation this year. America has become a 3rd world despot's kingdom.

I think it's certainly evil to go to rallies, on TV, to press, on twitter, etc. and say the pandemic is rounding the corner, nearly over, everything is ok, etc. He's causing people to get a) misinformation, b) sick, c) dead. If that isn't evil, I don't know what is.
I'd say it would be much harder to find times he acted properly, presidential, caring to the people of the United States, etc. I can't think of one moment. He's a toxic, mentally unstable game show host, con man and needs to go.

And tonight, we'll see NBC give in on the basic responsibility of mass media in order to salve his poor feelings and give him a town hall, and boost their ratings.
I thought it was simple. There's a debate tonight. Whomever shows up gets to speak to a national audience and their opponent - IF he shows up. Otherwise, he blew his chance.
ABC offered him a national spotlight - along with Joe Biden. Trump said no. So why should he get ANOTHER chance? There really ARE no consequences for his whining tantrums, are there?
Jesus God almighty, please go out and vote before Nov 4. PLEASE!
