Many environmentalists don’t want cheap, plentiful, damaging or
dangerous energy.
There is a difference.
The need for nuclear energy is actually something we can mitigate.
Nuclear energy is one of the most expensive options for energy if you
include reprocessing & decommissioning costs in the overall cost.
If we invested that money in energy efficiency measures, we wouldn’t
feel the need for nuclear & we could pretty much cope through
renewables

The orange one is going all in on herd immunity for Covid.... Meaning he's willing to let about 6.8 million people die.

I've been saying Moo over and over hoping to "develop" the "herd mentality" that will save us... for nothing???
Herd immunity is about the worst strategy because with covid it will mean absolute minimum with everything going super-duper optimistically nicely... well over a million dead in the U.S. and possibly as bad a six mill without bringing in anything that isn't already known and measurable.
For awhile I've been getting flashes of an old film of Jim Jones saying how the bananas in Guyana taste so great, you can't being to imagine how great they taste, so much better than bananas you can get in a supermarket, mmm-mm... so hey, send your kids on down!
All the bells are clanging, red lights flashing, multiple hurricanes, massive fires, biblical floods, heat rays, angry people in the streets, plague, mail not being delivered, doctors committing suicide, stay indoors orders from air pollution, porch pirates... if there's a final act who wants to be around for it? Oh to be on an island in Canada with a stack of comic books yet to be read and a supply of Cheez-Its. I admire others in more challenging circumstances. May God seriously bless America (again), it really really needs it! Plus I would like to be able to visit again someday. :^(
