Cancelled election and refusal to leave come January.

People say he has to leave in January regardless. Since
when has he don anything he 'has' to?
He's not leaving

 QUOTE:
If Trump were inclined to overstay his term, the levers of power work in favor of removal. Because the president immediately and automatically loses his constitutional authority upon expiration of his term or after removal through impeachment, he would lack the power to direct the U.S. Secret Service or other federal agents to protect him. He would likewise lose his power, as the commander in chief of the armed forces, to order a military response to defend him.

If the election is not held -- he goes. If he loses and decides to have a tantrum and stay -- he goes. The only way he stays if enough idiots vote for him. Polls currently say they won't. But we have 3+ months to see if he can get more support. Seems unlikely at this point.

As we've seen over the past four years, the Republican Party has a deep and abiding respect for the integrity of America's beloved institutions and can be relied upon to continue to protect that integrity in the future.

James W. - when Jan 20, 2021 rolls around, Trump can stay as long as he wishes, until visitors' hours are over.

No, Trump is leaving. Voluntarily or not is his choice. But I seem to recall that one of the Secret Service's responsibilities is to make sure that only the president and family are in the residence and private areas of the White House whenever they want. Anyone else is escorted out, with necessary prejudice.

Of course I have to speculate on this, as NO ONE has ever lacked the class to exit the White House graciously. But Trump WILL leave.

And I have the popcorn and lemonade franchise on the front lawn of the White House. Get it while it's hot! Get it while it's buttered!

Every president in my lifetime has been subject to rumors about refusing to leave office, except maybe Gerald Ford or Jimmy Carter, and for all I know there were conspiracy theories about them but I'm too young to remember and didn't make it into the history books.

While we all seem to be on the same page re: Trump being able to
legally stay, were not taking into consideration the MAGA militia and the
Boogaloos that could come and “defend” him in the WH.

I either read it somewhere (or someone mentioned it in the forum), but the more left-leaning Republicans and the more right-leaning Democrats should form up and work on a central third party. It would be difficult since the two-party system is so entrenched but I imagine there would be a large demand for something like that. Voters disillusioned with Trump and voters not impressed by the possible turn to the left with the Democrats might flock to it.

Third party Presidential candidates cannot win in the US Electoral system.  It's never happened before, and never will.  All they can do is fragment the electorate and alter the outcome for one of the two main parties.  This year, a strong 3rd party candidate would do nothing aside from make it more likely Trump will be re-elected, by fragmenting the anti-Trump vote.

He’s clearly stoking the confederate brigade for some reason.

Because he thinks there’s enough racists around that feel like he does
whose votes will get him reelected.

You have to have an account to read that.

And did anyone really think he would actually accept results if he lost?
He’s been sowing the seeds for that since before the 2016 election.
