I find the whole issue NOT going well and rather disturbing... wish there was a way to keep the seat vacant till the NEXT election.
-----
Replacing Scalia with another Scalia just brings us back to where we were before. I'm just hoping Breyer and RBG are able to stick around until the next election.

Gorsuch is qualified and deserves a vote. Yes, the same is true for Garland. The Republicans rolled the political dice there and won big. Why it didn't cost them at the ballot box is fucking infuriating, but someone has to govern in good faith, or it's fucking federal Bloods vs Crips. If the Democrats do the same shit, who's the good guy? Literally. If Superman murders Lex Luthor - who's the good guy now?

Kevin, simply put - Democrats need to stop being bullied by the Republicans. Sure, you can say "someone has to govern in good faith", but the GOP plays dirty and THAT needs to be factored in.
This article sums it up nicely:

Kevin, we're already in a knife fight. You don't win a knife fight by rolling on a pair of lace gloves and reading aloud from Emily Post.

No wonder people don't vote if you don't give them anything to vote for.

The United States and China will fight a war within the next 10 years over islands in the South China Sea, and “there’s no doubt about that”. At the same time, the US will be in another “major” war in the Middle East.
Steve Bannon.
We'll I'd hazzard a guess the war in the Middle East would be against Iran. China, he is aware they're a nuclear power isn't he?
Not to speculate, but the USA would probably 'win' a war against China, much like the USA may have 'won' a war against the USSR in 1962. But losing millions of citizens in the continental USA.
Must be part of the plan of making American great again?

The GOP has no intention to govern in good faith, so I'm sort of beyond their sudden high-minded pleas for Democrats to act according to the highest bipartisan ideals, especially when they see their skin-of-the-teeth electoral victory as an opportunity to enact all kinds of crazy/stupid agenda items. It's not like Trump was elected because his base of lunatic old people wanted Medicare detonated, yet Paul Ryan sees this as his big chance to scrape the parasites off the public tit. Well, the other parasites.

"They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way!"
But in all seriousness, when they try to bring up Gorsuch for confirmation, every single Democrat should mention Merrick Garland and how HE would make a better choice. And then say NO to Gorsuch.
