Mildly amusing piece of satire that is perhaps a little too close for comfort: LINK

"I've always liked American wines better than French wines, even though I don't drink wine," Trump told reporters Friday after issuing the tariff threat. "I just like the way they look."
I’m just ready for the rest of the world to just end us.

Yep, if anyone should tax Google making money off French people, it should be their home country. Wait, which is the home country here?
Turning the question around, French wine being sold to US people. Where does the sales tax on that wine currently go?

Obviously, the comment about preferring one wine over the other though he doesn't drink wine is beyond parody.

Great bottles, colourful labels. I don't see any reason to judge any further.
I actually think there are many wonderful American wines and don't think French wine offers great value for money... but as with all these tariffs, the number one victim is the American consumer. Say a US resident wants to splash out on a bottle of Champagne to celebrate. It only comes from one place. With a tariff they pay more, and it doesn't hurt the French one jot. It hurts the consumer, slows the US economy by disincentivising spending, contributes to inflation, and ultimately makes champagne seem even more of a luxury, which is what gives it its caché in the first place.
Tariffs mean inflation and all things being equal that means higher rates to combat inflation, which means a stronger dollar, which means US exports are less competitive, which curtails GDP growth... But he says they're great!

I’m watching Buffy from the start @ the moment, & it has hit me exactly who Trump is.
‘It’s like cars. I like expensive cars, not because they are expensive, but because they cost more.’
Ladies & gentlemen, Trump is the Cordelia Chase of politics.

On behalf of Cordy, I take offense. Cordelia's main function on the show was to speak the truth, regardless of other people's feelings. While Trump's supporters believe this is what he does, the facts say otherwise. Plus, Cordelia had insight and a chance of redemption. Neither of those is true in Trump's case.

Agreed, Brian... if Trump is any character from Buffy, it's either The Mayor of Sunnydale or Caleb (the Big Bad from the last season) who was a sadistic sociopath with a pathological hatred of women. Anyhow, speaking of sadistic...
While Baltimore has indeed been going through a very rough stretch the past 4+ years, one of the things that's been so striking is how LITTLE support or interest there's been from Washington to what's been going on here, just up the road. Just sayin'. Politicians just love to play the BLAME game and Trump is a MASTER at it.

Agreed guys. To be fair I was basing it on her first few episodes but yes, after those first few she grew as a person. Trump will never do that.
