 A clown can apply his make-up a lot better.”

For the poor soul who does Trump’s makeup....how orange  is he supposed to be?  Do they give the makeup artist a paint chip, or a Pantone number to match?  How much Tang should be powdered on his face until it’s considered done?

If you don’t tussle back, the pig will simply walk all over you.

Or you can stay outside the pen and remind the audience you are a human and therefore better-suited to a debate, while allowing the audience to point and giggle at the hog.

Hollering and bickering is fighting Trump's fight at the level of intellectual discourse he can handle.

While explaining why the US was pulling out of the Paris Accord, Trump explained that the US didn't want other countries laughing at them anymore. After last night's debate, I think other countries are chuckling quite a bit.

"Weird Al" Yankovic  has found a way to make watching the debate tolerable!

You all actually watched the debate? Willingly? Sober? Why?

Rodrigo: "If you think those are "good shots" Trump has already won."

I am completely mystified at your analysis. Please let me know. Same for Marc B., if you please.

=====

Rodrigo: "If you go down and tussle in the mud with a pig, you'll both get dirty. "

Excellent! But it felt to me that one candidate was dipping his foot in the mud, and one was right at home.

=====

Adam S. - I found it fun and entertaining, even if frustrating. I like the interaction, and I LOVE watching Trump get hammered out there. Obviously, those of you who support Trump will feel differently, but I did a lot of laughing.

Consider me mystified back.

Worst handling of the pandemic in the world. Instigated racial violence right there. Doesn't pay taxes. Wants to appoint Supreme Court judge a month before the elections. Says he won't accept the results of said elections. We could all go on and on.

And the best shot is "shut up, man"? Really?

My point exactly. It's a bad move to go in the mud with the pig, it's his habitat. Trump is pretty good in there, Biden's not. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience as one Mark Twain once said.

Masochism, I guess.

Bryan Eacret: "...Thanks for posting that. .."

Honestly, we have this EVERY WEEK in the U.K. - it’s called PMQs.

I mentioned it before upthread - someone asks a question, the PM
shouts over them, then shouts an answer only vaguely Connected to
the question, the rest of Parliament shout over him while he is
answering, the speaker shouts Order!, everyone quietens down & we
repeat the process.

Welcome to our world on that one.

What do you think he should have said?

So is he supposed to just stand there quiet the whole time and let
Trump be the only one who talks? He stood up to the bully. Good for
him, I say.
