Something is horribly, terrifyingly wrong in in this country when, the day after over 1800 people die of COVID19, including 800 people in New York alone, Trump is on Twitter boasting that his coronavirus briefings TV ratings are better than Monday Night Football & the season finale of The Bachelor.
Moreover, so many people seem to have no problem tuning in.

What an absolutely asinine thing to be commenting on. Of course these briefings will have large viewing figures. That he is complaining that some ‘forget’ to mention them just shows the level his ego is @.

"COVID-45".... good one, James!
Question to the international members... are these figures true??
Stimulus packages around the world:
UK: 80% of workers' salaries
Denmark: 75% of workers' salaries
S Korea: 70% of workers' salaries
Netherlands: 90% of workers' salaries
Canada: $2k per month
Australia: $1k per month
If true, WHY should anyone consider the U.S. a world leader?

There's a Republican Senator from Missouri proposing 80% of salary, retroactively, for all American workers. Other Republicans, following Trump's lead, are proposing rent freezes and mortgage assistance. Democrats, mostly at the state level, are currently blocking a lot of these things. Right now, a fair portion of the Republicans, out of desperate concern for the economy, are embracing at least short-term socialism.
I've been saying for a while now, by November, Biden is going to be to Trump's right on any number of issues, which will be a disaster.

I've been seeing a lot of posts on Facebook complaining about the Democrats shooting down bills that are designed to provide loans to small businesses.
What these people don't understand is that the Republicans have attached things to those bills that also provide bailouts to big businesses, and pay for it by cutting funding to programs like Medicare. So I'm assuming these people are either loyal FOX News watcher mouthbreathing asshats, or just plain not paying attention.

So, what would be an example of an issue on which Biden is currently to the right of Trump, or an issue on which you think Biden will be to the right of Trump in November?

As I already posted in this thread, healthcare:
Trump: The Federal government is going to pay for coronavirus care for the uninsured. Biden: Reopen the exchange so the uninsured can buy insurance with high deductibles to cover their care.
Biden is stridently opposed to socialism. Trump has no ideological commitments whatsoever. He'll do whatever is popular and that he thinks will help get him elected. Most Republicans will follow Trump wherever he goes, even if its off a cliff. I have no illusions that Trump in a second term would govern from any position other than the far right, but he'll run wherever he needs to in order to win. And outflanking Biden on the left is a great way to do that.
Trump has also done more to court Bernie supporters than Biden has thus far. By pointing to actual socialist policies that he's been recently supporting. Meanwhile, Biden thinks he's going to win over young voters by lowering the Medicare age from 65 to 60. Joe, everybody between 60 and 65 in the Democratic party is already voting for you.
As I said, a second Trump term is a disaster I'd like to avoid. But Biden seems clueless on how to reach out beyond his current base of support.

Trump has no ideological commitments whatsover??
I believe it was at no less than the State of the Union address that he declared socialism "dead" in America.

Charles, yes, the UK is covering furloughed workers at 80% of salary, up to £2,500 per month. No time limit.
I have mentioned in previous posts, I believe socialism is the only political system that is capable of operating in the current situation.
Hopefully people can now see the difference between it and Communism.
