Was pondering whether to include this in music or main sub-forum. I thought given it was about comic heroes, here might be more prudent:

Had no idea about the Hulk one, you know.

"Nobody Loves The Hulk" was advertised in comic books of the era. I bought a copy off eBay many years ago, and it arrived still sealed in the original mailing envelope from Queen City Records. Pretty cool!

Some pretty obscure stuff in there. Can't believe they didn't include
Superman's Song from The Crash Test Dummies.

I still have the CD Saturday Morning Cartoons Greatest Hits that have teh Ramones and Helmet covers and love to put it in from time to time.  There are some really fun covers by some great bands.

Odd not to mention hits like Donovan's "Sunshine Superman", the Kink's
"Wish I Could Fly (like Superman)" or Jim Croce's "Don't Mess Around With
Jim". But that's the nature of these silly lists*-- and I did not know "Nobody
Loves The Hulk". Now I love it!

*edit: on second look, I realize this list is fairly well focused on songs that tell
a superhero narrative or take on a superhero POV-- doing more than just
mention superheroes, like the hits I list above.

The only vinyl I can recall from my youth is a Spider-Man one. Whether it was a song or story, I do not know.

I've always loved Macca's Magneto and Titanium Man but from what I could get from the lyrics, there was no real connections with the MARVEL characters. Same with Black Sabbath's Iron Man.

"That's Really Super, Supergirl by XTC

"Brainiac's Daughter" by the Duke's of the Stratosphere" (actually XTC)

Sort of the opposite. A character based on the song appeared in Kingdom Come.

Cool!
Thanks for posting Robbie!

Wings- Magneto and Titanium Man, I remember seeing concert footage back in the seventies of that song . Seeing those characters on the big screen behind Wings made me giddy as a school girl. Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo mainstream wow!

Ramones- Spider-Man, I've listened to that many, many, many times over the years. Love It!

J.W. that version is a re-recording with then singer John Bush, the original from 1986 has Joey Belladonna on vocals, also, drummer Charlie Benante drew the cover art for the single, and it was pretty decent!
I remember a song on the radio in the 70`s with the chorus `Captain America` but have never been able to find out who it was by! I know British band Magnum did a song called Captain America but it`s not that!
Was it XTC who had a song called Sgt Rock?(U.K. comic character)
Whilst we`re on the subject, whenever i hear Metal Gods by Judas Priest,it always puts me in mind of X-Men`s Sentinels. Also The Sentinel by Judas Priest reminds me of Blade or Punisher.
