You know, what do Gene Simmons, Stan Lee and quite a few others all have in common? In my opinion, it must be hard to interview them these days without going over old ground.
Gene Simmons has been around forever. So has Stan Lee. They have been asked every conceivable question about their careers. I know them inside out. What can an interviewer ask them now that hasn't been asked a million times before?
They're also semi-retired ("retired" would seem too inaccurate a term!). They're not doing the same amount of things as they did decades ago. So have they got much left to say?
I hope so. Sure, it's nice to get Stan Lee's view on the latest Marvel movie. Or hear Simmons discuss something contemporary. But as far as their careers are concerned, what more can they reveal which countless publications/sites haven't already revealed?
Does that make sense?
