Who else is a fan of his Hulk artwork? I remember reading in an old Marvel Age issue that he idolized JB and that's why it's so obvious in his style. I personally think his art during that time was phenomenal. I always have felt that his work from this period was a perfect amalgam of JB and Alan Davis. Don't care for his current style that much though. Like most new creator work I see, it's technically superior, but overdrawn, sequentially lacking, and not as aesthetically pleasing.
He's one of those guys that I always wished displayed JB's love for comics so as to do several extended runs...on characters people like (no knock on "Pitt", but come on...) Oh well.

I was a fan of his. I didn't like the "smart" HULK that Peter David
was portraying at the time however. As soon as Keown left the
title, I stopped reading (and maybe before actually). I read PITT
for awhile and really enjoyed the art. As I recall Dale suffered
from perpetual lateness...is PITT still around? What else has
Keown been up to? Anything? The last thing I bought of his
was the HULK/PITT crossover. What was that...six years ago?

I searched him on comics.org and found that he pencilled a
couple random issues of Superman in 2001. That was the
most recent thing it had for him I think.
Thanks for the link Darren!

I liked Dale's HULK run very well. Much like Joe Hollon, I gave up on the title after he left. I bought a couple issues of PITT, but the lateness quickly made me lose interest.
Too bad, he's a good artist, but I will not support people who can't do the work on something resembling a schedule. And before anybody tries coming to his defense on that, I remember several consecutive issues of his HULK work before there was an occasional fill-in. Like many of the Image guys (who were made to tow the line and do the work on time in the late 80's), as soon as they got out on their own, the excuses began.

Yeah Roger you appear to be correct...Dale did something like
a 33 issue run on HULK with very few (any?) fill-ins.

Loved his Hulk. I thought it was very easy to see his JB influences. For a time, his women looked very "Byrne-like". I wish he was still doing a monthly book.

Dale Keown drew a terrific Hulk. He's probably one of my three all-time favorite Hulk artists, along with Sal Buscema and JB.
I never picked up PITT, though, because back then I never bought anything that said "Image" on the cover. What did I miss? Anybody recommend going back and looking at that series?

I picked up the first issue, which looked good, but I don't remember the story being anything outstanding. I never picked up another issue after that because, if memory serves, the second issue was months late.
The art was full-on Keown, though, so I'd say that would be worth picking over a quarter bin or two to find if you're so inclined.

Thanks, Roger. I'll keep an eye out for PITT.

I know Dale is doing a lot of covers for Top Cow. I don't think he is doing any monthly titles. It would be a nice bit of nostalgia now that David is back on the Hulk to see Keown do a story arc with him.
