When principal shooting began on Star Wars, Alec Guiness was not yet 62 years old. Mark Hamill is now at the age that Guiness was when they were shooting Empire Strikes Back...

Thinking about that makes me feel all kind of weird.

Luke Skywalker was the big hero of my early childhood and decades later I'm still excited about seeing Mark Hamill properly return to the role (after TFA failed to really deliver on that front).

Hope he had a great birthday.

Peter, I was talking about STAR WARS with
my son yesterday. He mentioned about how
it was SO OLD!

Next year, STAR WARS turns 40.
By comparison when the end of WWII
happened, it was 1985, when I was 12. At
that age the war might as well have been
100 years earlier. 40 years was such a
long time. Heh, not anymore.

When it comes to head spinners like that, here's a bit of a doozy: we landed on the moon 24 years after the end of WWII. Next year will be double that span since we landed on the moon...
