Love it! Particularly the strip of Kirby circles connected by lines.

SWEET!!! At this stage, it could almost be a coloring book page.

Indeed! Working on the coloring book seems to have had an effect on how I do my initial inking, laying down the lines in pen before I pick up the brush.*

______________

* When I say "pen" and "brush" I mean PITT pens with equivalent tips.

**

My thought exactly. Imagine, an entire series of classic
Marvel Universe colouring books by JB - whether they be
pinups/standalone scenes or a full length narrative. It
is to drool...

That's awesome!  I agree with others, it would definitely make for a great page in a coloring book, too!

Here's the finished image. I think you can deduce what the customer asked for!

18x24 inches

Very classic. A few subtle line weight changes and you could easily fool a lot of people into thinking this was Kirby/Sinnott. Beauty!

Both images are stunning but I do like the final product better. The black areas really add impact to the commission (and help the stars and other sky objects to show up better!)

In the first image posted, the stars are merely droplets of liquid mask, and there is no concern about whether they "show up" or not.    The addition of black does not correct a flaw in the original image.

...

Interesting, I believe I will try that process on my next piece.

And WOW! The contrasts really seem to pop. Excellent piece!

As soon as I saw the title, I knew this was going to be a good one! I didn't expect the added bonus of the WIP!
