Since Robbie asked everyone's favorite Beatles song and some of us aren't too happy he only asked for one, I thought I'd be a bit different:

What are your three favorite covers of Beatles songs?

Mine:

1. A Day In The Life - The Bee Gees

2. Come Together - Joe Cocker

3. Happiness Is A Warm Gun - Joe Anderson

(Yes, all 3 are from movies - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Across The Universe, but I heard the Bee Gees' version of "A Day In The Life" years before I saw the movie.)

This one's tough, 'cause I can't really think of too many to begin with that I either own and/or genuinely love... off the top of my head, I can only think of:

"Mother Nature's Son" - John Denver

"With a Little Help from My Friends" - Joe Cocker

"Here Comes the Sun" - Richie Havens

Shaun, I could have just as easily said almost any song off the Across The Universe soundtrack, as there's only one or two performances I didn't care for. ("Hey Jude" because its one of my least favorite Beatles song, and "I Am The Walrus" because it was just too weird hearing Bono perform it.)

(And not really a cover, but I prefer John Lennon's live solo version of "Come Together" off a concert album to the Beatles version.)

1. Come Together- Aerosmith
2. Helter Skelter- Pat Benatar
3. Day Tripper- Cheap Trick

So many to pick from but these are the freshest in my head.

1- "Something" by Bob Dylan at Madison Square Garden in 2002.  My favorite version of any Beatles song ever by any artist including the Beatles.  He sang it in tribute to his friend George Harrison because they "...were such good buddies."  Look it up, you can probably find it on YouTube.

2- "Come Together" by Aerosmith

3- "With a Little Help From My Friends" by Joe Cocker

The local classic rock radio station used to play the Aeorsmith version of Come Together EVERY day within the same 2-hour time frame. Getting totally sick of it, I called and asked why they were doing it. The response I got from the program manager is they don't repeat the playlist from day to day. ( A lie. They very much did. ) So, the next day at the prescribed time of day, Come Together by Aerosmith was not played. It was replaced by the original version of the song by The Beatles. Which continued for the next couple of months.

Oh, how I hate that song now.

1) Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - Elton John

2) I Want To Hold Your Hand - Al Green (NOTE: Al does sing a lyric wrong, it's "I can't hide," not "I get high," but, hey, it's Al Green, so he gets a pass from me.)

3) Norwegian Wood - P.M. Dawn

Have a listen to `I Need You` by Transatlantic,it is a medley of I Need You by America, that segue`s into a sublime version of I Need You by The Beatles, you even get a bit of Daytripper added with subtlety.

My other two covers would be

Do You Want To Know A Secret by Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas and Here Comes The Sun by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.
