Well, there's always Terminus!

Or is he in the FF package, too?

Heck, supposedly EGO was in the FF package (!!), and yet Ronan The Accuser was not, so who knows anymore?

For those keeping track, the new Awesome Mix, Vol. 2 soundtrack is shaping-up nicely, with the following:

SWEET - Fox on the Run

JAY & THE AMERICANS - Come a Little Bit Closer

FLEETWOOD MAC - The Chain

DAVID BOWIE - Suffragette City

So far, so good!

Ego was actually owned by Fox but they traded his rights so that they could use different powers for Teenage Negasonic Warhead in Deadpool.

Which seems like a ridiculously uneven trade to me.

So at this point all the characters are potentially on the table. Considering Fox clearly knows nothing about comic book characters they are liable to trade Galactus for Zaladane or something like that.

That is a good start!
I wonder if we should include "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Diana Ross (I think) ? That was the song playing after he put Vol. 2 in at the end of the first movie.

Looks like fun... though I'm finding the humor in all these trailers to be a little more forced & contrived than in Part 1.

Not enough to put me off, though!

I'll go see it because my wife loved the first movie, and wouldn't miss the second one.

But I'm still kinda raw that this bunch is the Guardians, instead of Charlie-27, Martinex, Yondu, Vance Astro, Starhawk, Nikki... sort of as if the Defenders didn't have Dr. Strange, the Hulk, Namor, Valkyrie, or Nighthawk. :O

Director James Gunn explains how Ego The Living Planet is able to create a human form (Kurt Russell) to seduce Meredith Quill and communicate with his son and the rest of the Guardians -

"Ego is a living planet who is able to manifest himself in different ways; he’s been alone for millions of years and he’s learned how to control the molecules around him in such a way as to create avatars of themselves, such as Kurt Russell," says the filmmaker. "I think Ego was a very lonely character out there by himself and went off in search of love and perhaps found it in Quill’s mother."

I'm still expecting some type of twist in this plot line.

Um... spoiler alert? Or is that Ego bit SUCH common knowledge that a warning isn't necessary? 'Cause I sure didn't know it.

That's it! You've ruined the movie for me! I'm going to go watch "Logan" again instead! :) :) :)

How did Ego come to exist?
Well, when a mommy planet loves a daddy planet very much... ;)

LOL - sorry, Eric... I believe Ego (as Kurt Russell) was revealed early on in the production of this film. Not a spoiler and the film has plenty of surprises left from what I've read!

Kurt Russell as Ego was confirmed last July at SDCC, although I
believe there were rumors that was whom he was playing before that.

Ego has been discussed in this thread as early as Post 1, Page 1.

YEOW! Okay, okay, I got it.

And this ignorance on my part probably shows how much interest I have in GotG 2. Sigh... gonna get dragged to it anyhow... :)

Just read a report that according to James Gunn, the visual effect of Ego in his planetary form will be "the largest visual effect in the history of film....by far".

Cool.

An iconic Georges Méliès movie image comes to my mind right now...
