Newsarama just posted that the Great Lakes Avengers will have their own book, coming soon.
The lineup will include Doorman, Flatman, Mr. Immortal and Big Bertha--no mention of Dinah Soar--along with a cardboard cutout of onetime member Squirrel Girl.

That description sounds like maybe the point has been missed. We shall see.

Given that they're coming back as part of the below, I wouldn't get your hopes up. That's Victor Von Doom in the one picture, leading the one team, and the black woman in the other picture leading the other team is the new Iron Man. To go through the other characters would sadden me too deeply.

A quick write-up on the GLA and their history, from Comic Book Resources:
QUOTE:
Writer/artist John Byrne introduced the team in 1989's "West Coast Avengers" #46, wherein Hawkeye and Mockinbird discovered that there was a team of "Avengers" operating in a non-coastal city. And while this quintet of heroes definitely didn't have anyone's blessing to use the Avengers name, they were more than just superhero enthusiasts; these guys actually had powers.

Personally, the introduction of the GLA was one of the best things JB did on the West Coast Avengers. I think the fact that it was so unexpected is what has endeared me to the team. They may have been goofy, but they felt like real people. They were much more complicated than a simple, two-dimensional Avengers parody a lesser writer might have turned them into.

And important point that SO many have missed is that the GLA were deliberately "goofy," but did not see themselves that way.I've even seen various members make it onto lists of "Worst Superheroes Ever." Wow! The ennui must be gushing out of the ears of the list makers! (I notice the CBR article describes Mister Immortal's powers incorrectly, granting him "healing powers" that bring him back to life. Not what I intended -- tho I supposed someone handling the characters after I left might have gone down that easy road.)

Am i missing something? A woman is Iron MAN? Doctor Doom has an un-scarred face? She-Hulk needs swords?

Riri Williams is most likely the new War Machine, not Iron Man like comic news sites have speculated. She doesn't officially have a hero name yet, but with Rhodey currently dead, that'd be the logical conclusion.
The current Stilt-Man is actually female, though. She used to go by Lady Stilt-Man, but then decided that it's a work title, so a woman can be a Stilt-Man without additional qualifiers.

Because calling herself anything with "Legs" in it would have been sexist...
As for She-Hulk with swords, why not? How's she gonna go toe-to-toe in fan polls with Red Diana, She-Murderer with a Sword, if she isn't a bad-ass, hack-'em-up-chop-'em-kill-'em-all-dead butcher herself?
Am I correct that the character over Doom's (the Julian McMahon version finally makes it to the mainstream) left shoulder is a kick-ass, armed-to-the-teeth version of Slapstick? I mean, I suppose after bringing Spider-Ham into the regular Spider-Titles, sure, but... wow.

--------------------------------------------------------
Could that be Gamora? After the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, those characters have a much higher profile in Marvel.
