Making him an Inhuman doesn't tie in the other storyline of the show. It
might be POLITICALLY safe to say the new director of SHIELD is a
registered Inhuman (to show the world how much they can be trusted
when they behave...and comply with the Slovakia Accords). But they
don't really trust them enough to put a powerful entity like SHIELD in
the hands of a true Inhuman. So instead they installed an LMD.

----

But it is also clear that SHIELD and its overseers don't trust AIs either,
because of Ultron, and based on Fitz's reaction to AIDA, who has not
yet been perfected, an LMD that lifelike is beyond what SHIELD is
currently capable of.

Who's to say the Director LMD is a SHIELD creation?

Just because someone said the Director is an Inhuman doesn't mean he is one. Isn't it easier to describe Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four as mutants? That's completely and entirely incorrect... but for the average clown, it fits into the existing paradigm.

Shucks, Mace might have received the pseudo super soldier formula (try saying THAT three times fast!) and told he was exposed to Terrigen (or whatever it was called back when he was transformed.)

All we've done is substituted "inhuman" for "mutant" - and the proliferation is still tremendous and still annoying as hell. And because the terrigen has been released as shark liver oil, ANYONE could become an inhuman. Feh.

I watched the 2nd episode last night. I totally missed where it was said he was an Inhuman. Who said it?

He said it himself.

INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
May attacked him in the room where they train and spar. She hit him a few times and he grabbed her by the throat and put her up against the wall.

Damn. I don't remember that at all. I must've gotten up to fill my drink or something.

So, thoughts on last episode? I'm still trying to get back into the show and with the changes that have taken place between this and last season I feel a slight disconnect. I am enjoying it, but still feel like I'm missing something.

I need Daisy back in the fold.   Her physical condition is becoming a very big deal.

I need Coulson calling the shots.   Director Mace bugs me (as I'm sure he was meant to).

I need more Ghost Rider in action.   A Ghost Rider show would be welcomed.

By the way, I guessed I missed it, but why did Mae get sent elsewhere to get treated only to be brought back to the base? I can't seem to figure out the purpose of that plot.

I think May was sent off to the CDC partially to put Coulson in his place
and partially so she wouldn't be a distraction for Coulson and Simmons.
She wasn't brought back to the base. Simmons had her brought to
Radcliffe's house because she had the idea to use his brain imager
device.

Thanks Michael. I realized later after posting this that it was as Radcliffe's she was taken to.

Still, seeing her on the plane (to be taken away from the base) with the visiting delegates and such seemed odd. She's yelling and they are just sitting around nonchalant like they are used to it. I feel like something took place of camera that we are missing.

May on the plane was very odd. If Mace was trying to make a good impression for SHIELD with those delegates, May's madness certainly undermined it. It would've been better had they put May on a separate craft. They must have more than one plane.

This week's episode was interesting. Aida is a character to keep an eye on for sure.

In the MCU, 'Jocasta' is the name of one of Tony Stark's A.I. programs.
He picked the program known as Friday to take over for Jarvis in A:AOU.

I'm betting Aida stays Aida.

Being mostly bemused by the attempts to connect Random J. Person on the show to a comics character, it's embarrassing that I'm the one to point out that Aida was also the name of the digital assistant to Tom Thumb in Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme series.  She probably had an acronym, but I can't remember it, although "A.I." sounds appropriate, which leads me to think it is coincidence, and the thanks to Mark in the end credits is for someone else.

(Speaking of end credits, Bill Everett has been off-and-on, off last week when the new-Director-but-with-a-past was also absent.  Connection?)

By the way... did Director Mace make an indirect mention of a certain Canadian superhero last night?

He said he didn't have time to check out every "Sasquatch sighting"... hm.

I caught the Quentin Carnival poster hanging on the basement wall in last nights episode.

That Quentin Carnival poster bore fruit in last night's episode!

Now we know where Robbie gets his demonic powers from.

I've been enjoying this season more than any of the previous seasons. The inclusion of Ghost Rider is fantastic. I would love it if this could lead to a spin off series.

The Cameo of a certain cyclist last night was a nice one.

The question though, did he give up his own powers through transfer or did he only transfer a part of his powers?
