I made every effort to avoid telling purchasers how to color the pages. This included biting the bullet and having no black areas. Only line. This way the colorists can decide for themselves what's what even to what's dark and what's light.

Leonard O'Grady has tried his hand at coloring a few of the pages. Here's a sampling:
Spiffy, huh? Note that these are not the "official" colors, since there ARE NO official colors!

That's quite the beautiful panel!
Every time I'm in Target now, I find myself in the art aisle looking at coloring options. I'm holding off in buying anything though until the book is published. I think I would favor markers, but worry the ink might bleed through the page; if that seems likely, I'll have to decide between colored pencils or crayons.

Here`s an idea while you wait for J.B.`s colouring book...go on Ebay and buy a cheap black and white U.K. reprint title from the 70`s,and get colouring!

Leonard O'Grady's colouring looks spectacular over your wonderful artwork, John! Since you stated that you've avoided using black areas, and now seeing some coloured pages, do you miss the blacks that would ordinarily be there if this was a comic?

Since you stated that you've avoided using black areas, and now seeing some coloured pages, do you miss the blacks that would ordinarily be there if this was a comic?•• Since the pages were designed for a coloring book, there's nothing to "miss" in having no large black areas.
