It takes skill to portray a "monster" sharing such a tender moment.

It's time to tug that first JB FF Omnibus off the shelf so I revisit Ben and the
rest of the family.

Excellent - great to see a quiet, loving moment for these two

I like the reference to "Terror in a Tiny Town" - hands down my favorite comic book story.

I have one problem with this one: it should be Alicia and Johnny ;)

Ya know, for a brief second, I thought a Johnny/Alicia commission would be great, but then I realized that it was retconned to be a Skrull after JB left. I liked what JB did with Johnny and Alicia and would liked to have seen what else he would have done with their relationship. Though I guess it was inevitable that somebody would have come along afterward to mess it all up...

Great work JB. The yin and yang of a couple. An amazing feel-good T&A it is.

It wasn't even the messing up that annoyed me. I know nothing I do is bulletproof. Too many writers and editors who exist only to "fix" things, even if those things are not broken.

In the case of Johnny and Alicia, I knew the concept would not long outlast my tenure on the FF, but I did not expect such a ridiculous, ham-handed, comic-booky (in the worst sense) "solution." A solution which, itself, made no sense in context.

Though well-done, Alicia's relationship with Johnny was one of a very
few things I didn't care for during JB's run. Ben and Alicia are a great
couple!

The other two things I didn't like were hairstyle changes for Johnny and
Sue. Believe me when I say that those are the smallest of quibbles.

On a different note... I wonder why the Skrull milk story from JB's run
isn't mentioned as much as some of the others. I liked it a lot!
