I love the "Darknight Detective", the "Man of Tomorrow" and etc.
J'onn J'onzz, definitely in my top two DC hero's, the "Martian Manhunter", just doesn't seem to be as awesome of a nickname as some of the others.
And while typing this out, I realized Man of Tomorrow works a lot better when Superman is more unique.

"The Manhunter from Mars" worked a lot better when that's what he actually was, back in the days when he was a private detective. For the last few decades, he's been a fairly generic super-hero, so the "Manhunter" tag no longer makes much sense.
For best nickname, I suppose I'll always have a soft spot for "the Dynamic Duo".

I remember a comic where the obviously-robot era Braniac called Superman the Avenging Angel. I thought that was pretty awesome.

I think "The Boy Wonder," "The Dark Knight Detective" and "The Dynamic Duo"
are all good. So is "Scarlet Speedster."
I prefer "Man of Steel" to "Man of Tomorrow." I'm not fond of "Avenging Angel"
for Superman.
I believe I've heard or read Green Lantern referred to as "Ringslinger," and that
one doesn't work for me either.

I think the Joker would call Robin, "The Boy Hostage" occasionally.

Do any newer heroes have nicknames of that sort? Even ones of 70s vintage like Firestorm or Wolverine? Firestorm's book had the subtitle, the Nuclear Man, but i don't recall people calling him that. The Nuclear Knight? The Atomic Avenger? The Fiery Fury? Wolverine calls himself the Old Canucklehead.I guess in the DCU he'd be the Clawed Canadian.

Did the Fawcett Captain Marvel stories use 'The World's Mightiest Mortal'?
Recently re-read DC COMICS PRESENTS # 22, a Superman/Captain Comet team-up, with the cover caption, 'The Man of Tomorrow meets the Man of the Day After Tomorrow!'
Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) was 'The Dominoed Dare-Doll' when she was introduced, and her partnership with Robin was referred to as 'the Dynamite Duo' in BATMAN FAMILY.

Of course, over at Marvel they always called Iron Man "the Golden Avenger"--which didn't quite make sense but sounded good! (It REALLY didn't make sense when he changed his armor to red and white!)
Yeah, Marvel's nicknames were more on the fun side--Shellhead, Hornhead, Winghead, Web-Slinger, Wall-Crawler, the Green Goliath, etc.
DC's nicknames were usually more noble sounding, if duller. (Which sort of sums up the difference between the two companies right there!)
