He's the absolute best (no offense JB!) at foreshortening on Spider-Man's costume and the webs. ••• Wait!! Are you saying that a better artist than me is a better artist than me?!? Why I oughta.....

Wasn't always a fan, but I have become one. I like his line because of the
"rough" look.

I have the aforementioned Nuff Said issue, and it is spectacular! I was
blown away then, and I recommend it to any who have not been so

Lucky enough to call John a friend, he sometimes made joke of me as his number 1 frien. Truth be told I'm a huge fan of his since his first Spider-Man run and his work on Daredevil made me a fan for life. Of course I read each and evey book that he ever drew. I did not miss one issue. I fancy myself as someone who like the art of inking and John' work is fascinating in that aspect,because he worked with almost every inkers in the biz. There is so much that can be said about the work of the inkers over his perfectly paced stories. I did not like Bob Layton's work on Iron-Man, I loved the way Al Williamson used a brush on DD and Klaus Janson is the best inker working over his pencils those days...
I have a blog about comics, bandes dessinee, art, inking art...and there are hundreds of pages that I show from John. From Spidey to Superman...hundreds! Feel free to spend some time looking over his artwork.; You'll even find the breakdown art that John sent me, that Frank Miller inked for the DK III issue 3 mini comics

I don't care about the JRjr bashers. I don't have enough time to loose speaking about them. John is the best storyteller working on comics today (he has been for a long time) Some artists may be better draftmen but I don't see anyone coming close as far as telling a story is concerned. Sending John a full script as DC did with Superman is stupid and a waste of talent. He can still shine through but still such a waste to tell him how to pace a story
Lucky for us (and him I guess) he's not working with a full script for the coming Batman book he's doing

I'm very excited for the upcoming Batman book, especially with inks by Bill Sienkiewicz.
I'm assuming that JR will be doing a monthly book when Rebirth begins?

This one was such a sad strip art to me, because it was the end of a too short run with JB. One of my favorite, right after Daredevil and Punisher War Zone (as far as the art is concerned)

Love Romita Jr a lot and have appreciated his continued refinement and evolution of his particular style.
It seems to me that in the past 10-15 years his work has taken on a "volume" that is similar to the power of Kirby's. Meaning that his characters have a presence about them that is powerful and their mass is hugely evident. Does that make sense?
