Sometimes for fun I will browse Google images looking for cool images of comics-related stuff. It's funny how some search words turn up pictures you wouldn't necessarily expect, which can in turn lead to looking up other pictures than what I started out searching for to begin with.
Anyway, I came across a really cool piece: The original artwork for the cover to "Detective Comics" #70, in high-resolution! Below is a scaled down picture of the cover, and underneath that is a direct link to the larger version, where you can see all the awesome details.
Link to larger version!

Wow! I love that era of covers, so much more lively than most of the stale covers I see today.

What I enjoy about this cover art is Batman's body position, his hand on the rope, and what the rope is doing in return, also how there is an sense of emergency and tension.
Also this is an image of things in the the real world. No alien monsters, no super duper, at the most its "Popular Mechanics."

Great find, Matt!
Amazing how well the white ink held up over 72 years. Does the color on that stuff ever shift? It's really lovely!

Are the white areas touch-ups? They seem more like areas that did not discolor instead. Don't own any old comic art myself.
It is a really great cover image. Nice find!
