Saw quite a few JB pages there -- FF, Iron Fist, and an "X" page or two. Even the artist editions don't really do them justice.

I was there for a few hours today.  I looked for the Marvel and DC booths, but couldn't find them.  (I wasn't interested enough to ask someone though.)

Most of my time was spent in the Artist Alley, which like last year, was in a separate area.  Unfortunately, Bill Sienkiewicz wasn't there, but I did get to buy a cool drawing from Geof Darrow.

I spotted Scott Adsit (formerly of 30 Rock) at the convention checking out the artists. I have to say he is in good shape, nothing like the way he looked on the show.

(Sorry, I know this is a thread for pics and I have none.)

Al, that looks like almost every statue and bust they've ever done!

I saw that Nick Fury dog in the nycc twitter feed. Pretty cute, he even had a pistol! I almost got to go to NYCC, but the decision to send me down was too late and it would have been too expensive. We have a new booth design and I painted a Zombie Uncle Sam for it, and I have yet to see the dang thing! The only pic so far has a Catwoman cosplayer standing perfectly in front of it.

There that's better.

I just returned from the convention. I had planned to take picture but my son who was responsible for the picture taking forgot the memory card at home.
 I'll share my experiences thou.
First I'll say my negatives before the good stuff.

It was way too crowded for my taste. I knew it would be thou.
I needed have been upset by not being able to show work because of the problem with my drawing hand. There was no opportunity to showcase my art anyway.

I had to pay 70 dollars to get Stan Lee's signature. It really was more than I wanted to pay but I had to weight my options. Looking at Stan he look so frail. I know this would be my last chance to meet him. So I paid the money. I was inline with only 5 people in front of me when he stopped signing. So I had to stay 2 and a half hours longer than I planned. When the time eventually did come. My son could come with me he had to stay in another room because I didn't pay for him. Even thou he wasn't even planning on getting anything signed. Stan didn't really speak to anyone. He barely looked up.  I felt bad for him. I was disappointed by the experience I wanted to meet him and thank him for all he has meant to me. That didn't happen. But given his age and how week he looked. I wasn't angry just disappointed.

My feet and back are killing me.

Now for the good stuff ..... I MET STAN LEE !!!!! I at least got to meet him.

I saw Neal Adams,Tom Raney, Ron Garney.I did some networking with Brian Pulido.  I ran into Marc Silvestri in the crowd we had a few nice words. I saw Joe Quesda in the crowd. I wasn't interested in exchanging pleasantries.

I saw John Barrowman. So I I saw from the wrestling world  Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Brutus Beefcake, Tito Santana and Greg the Hammer Valentine.

I picked up some comics at good deals.

 Amazing Spider-Man 66  for 25 dollars
Werewolf by Night 25 for 7 dollars
Tomb of Dracula 48 and 53 5 dollars a piece
Fantastic Four 66 and 67 5 dollars a piece
I got a hardcover collection volume 1 of the Spider-Man newspaper strips by Lee and Romita which I got Stan to sign. That book I got for 10 dollars.

So in the cosmic scheme of things the good makes up for the bad.

All that being said I can say I've gone too my last convention. It takes too much out of me. They aren't really for me anymore anyway.

If I saw Joe Q, I would probably yell at him.

My enjoyment at these shows have been declining also.  Aside from all the walking, I don't see many of the artists I knew as a kid.

Oh I forgot to mention I saw a lot of cosplayers. Some really good ones. Too many more people who shouldn't be wearing spandex.

I saw a disturbing sight. A short hairy fat man wearing a Wonder Woman outfit.

I saw some wonderful women dressed as X-Men. My favorite's I saw were a woman dressed as the Rocketeer, A man wearing a Tardis. He stopped unzipped the door and stepped out dressed as the 10th Doctor.

Cool that you got to meet Stan, Anthony. At 92, I have no idea how he does all the appearances that he does. I find cons fun but exhausting and I'm 52 years younger than Stan. Sorry the experience wasn't better for you, but that's still pretty cool.
