I followed the New Mutants only briefly. I was able to find the first few issues on the spinner-rack but had a hard time finding it after issue 5 or 6.

Warlock is a character that I find visually interesting. Its a figure that is hard for me to wrap my head around on how to draw. Where would one even start?

What's everyone's take on the character? Has JB ever drawn Warlock?

Warlock's look changed drastically from his first appearance to later appearances. Initially he had pretty much proper defined legs and arms with muscles etc.

He later pretty much had smooth flowing armatures from his trunk. As to how the yellow lines worked etc? No idea

I always preferred Art Adams' depictions of him, esp when he'd form into 'Gundam' armor for Doug.

I wasn't a huge fan when he was introduced because I liked Bob McLeod and Sal Buscema and Bill Sienkiewicz was way out there as far as I was concerned and Warlock's design was as out there as anything. But I did eventually grow to like Warlock as a character and I hated when they killed him off.

If I remember correctly, JB drew Warlock in this issue:

But I don't currently have a copy to verify that. I also think he may have drawn Warlock on a cover to something like "Marvel Comics Present," or something similar.

I loved Warlock and his look, but he was way too powerful for inclusion in the New Mutants. He could turn himself into a spaceship!

I enjoyed Art Adams' NEW MUTANTS work. I liked JB's depiction of Warlock as
well.

I love Bret Blevins run on New Mutants and his depiction of Warlock. JB stays on model with what Blevins was doing with the character.

Seeing these drawings of Warlock reminded me how much I liked him. AND I liked Doug a lot, too. Thought his understated mutant power was really cool and even enjoyed him "teaming up" with his pal Warlock to be more effective in fights was a cool idea. Thought the killing off of Doug was one of those situations where a writer (or editors) decided Doug was a dull character when in fact, they just weren't being creative in how to use him.

Arthur Adams' Warlock is pretty great. Web of Spider-Man Annual #1 is a Spidey/Warlock story.

Paul Pelletier drew Warlock a few years ago in Nova. 11 or 12? He did a swell job as well.
