A wonderfully stylized penciller whose work just popped off the page. He's kind of life a stylized version of Garcia-Lopez with Jack Kirby power!
This guy could draw a loaf bread and it would be exciting.
What happened to him? He had his big break with "Marvel vs DC" and then kind of disappeared.

well, i couldn't find much information about him.
He has done small and sporadic work and not much recently. It just makes me wonder why someone so manifestly talented who could've done a lot of work with DC and Marvel didn't. Too slow? Didn't want to leave Italy? Got into commercial work? I dunno.

Searched for him. Even in italian, I was unable to find anything he has done since 2007! He is still alive and well, since he is regularly attending italian comics events, but no information about what he is doing now.

I know he did some stuff for Marvel - books I wasn't reading - but I'm
only familiar with him because of DC VS. MARVEL which he co-
pencilled with Dan Jurgens. I liked his work quite a bit.

He drew a Silver Surfer that had some beautiful John Buscema-like visuals way back when If I recall correctly.

Last time I found his art, it was in 2007 for a Superman/Batman cover. Haven't seen any new work since then.

Unfortunately, this tremendous artist showed up about the time Marvel was going belly up...he got to draw some truly horrendous stories. The other day, I picked up a back issue of WOLVERINE: THE END just to look at this guy´s art.
Maybe one day I will have the chance to get into Italian comics...
Francescos, how is the health of the business/medium over there?

I first saw Castellini's artwork in an actual italian comic, Nathan Never. Sadly, he only did a full 96-page long issue, a few short stories and a bunch of covers before leaving it for the US market. He had a very Neal Adams-inspired art at the time.
