With the odd alternating-books approach I have been playing with lately, this morning I actually finished the first issue of NEXT MEN: FINDERS OF LOST CHILDREN. For the attention of some current artists, this is a book that will be on sale next July, at the earliest!

But if the book´s ready, wouldn´t IDW be interested in launching it earlier?

••

That would defeat the purpose of this new staggered work schedule!

Right now I am working on THREE titles, simultaneously. A page of HIGH WAYS in the morning, and alternated pages of MYSTERY PROJECT 2 and FINDERS OF LOST CHILDREN in the afternoon. In this way, ALL four issues of HW will be finished before the first one goes on sale, as well as two issues of MP2 and two issues of FINDERS. Since MP2 is the next in the pipeline, that will shift to the "top slot" when I'm finished HW, and FINDERS will alternate with the next TRIO, and so on.

Sure, as the finished books pile up, there will be a temptation to start releasing them -- and as I noted elsewhere, we are thinking about "overlapping" the last issue of the first HW arc with the first issue of the first MP2 arc, in April, and the same with MP2 and FINDERS in July. But the whole thing fall apart if too much stuff comes out. Then I find myself jamming up against deadlines again!

Here's a look at the special rack I made for myself, out of a cardboard box, so I could stack the finished pages to one side of my drawing board, as usual, but without the books getting mixed up:

Note Gwynn -- aka Hell Hound -- in her usual work hours place, under the board!

MYSTERY PROJECT 2

+++++

Funny how rarely the Bad Byrne stories refer to the mental cruelty that JBFers are daily subjected to here...

A side note: Having now finished the first issue of FINDERS OF LOST CHILDREN, I would normally have to wait until I had finished at least one full issue of one of the other series, before I plunged into FINDERS' second issue. But, with this schedule, I will most likely be working on the first page on Tuesday -- "Sandy" willing!

What you see on the "rack" in the picture above, from the top down, is HIGH WAYS 3, MP2 2, and FINDERS 1.

I love how 'busy' your drawing table looks, with stuff on it and tools at arm's reach.

It depresses me when my drawing table is completely 'naked' <g>.

Hi Gwynn!

Oh, and I like the setup JB, do you think you could fit four on your table?
