If this thread should have been in the regular toy thread, please
remove and I'll repost in that thread.

I was watching a TV show tonight which was basically, American
Pickers but with toys. One of the toys the host found was a mid-70's
Spider-Man Webmaker. For those who are unfamiliar with it, it was a
bubble card toy. The cardboard back was hinged and would open up
in an "L" shape to show a city street on the bottom and buildings as a
backdrop. It came with a tube or two of goop to make webs with, a
Spider-Man head applicator to keep the goop off your hands, and a
few yellow spiders.

I saw this thinking, man I had one of those! I wish I could find it
again. Then the host gave the estimated value...$450.
YIKES!

This got me thinking. What other toys from my childhood would I like
to find again. My one answer: the 70's set of Mego sized Lone Ranger
with Silver horse made by Gabriel. eBay was not kind to my plight.
This will take some time to save up for.

So, my question to all is; What toys from your childhood would you like
to hunt down?

Being a child of the 80s, most of my childhood toys have been remade in better versions: I'm currently collecting  the updated versions of G.I. Joe, Transformers, Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Voltron.

As far as vintage toys, I might be interested in the Shogun Warriors, especially Godzilla and Raydeen, and the Corgi Supermobile, which I might still have in a box somewhere.

I somehow managed to hold onto most of the action figures I had as a kid, including the Star Trek: The Motion Picture figures. I still have Kirk, McCoy, Scotty, and Decker...but I'd like to find Spock again someday. My original Spock met with an unfortunate fate. When my father took me to see Wrath of Khan and Spock died at the end, I came home and gave the Spock figure a proper burial in the backyard. But I didn't bury him deep enough and Dad's lawnmower came along and made the loss more permanent than I intended.

Dino-Riders: I loved these toys as a child and always wanted the biggest ones. I have since acquired a couple, but not with their armor. It costs way  too much to get them complete.
Inhumanoids: I had a couple of the lower end toys as a child and of course always dreamed of the big ones. These are very cost prohibitive for me.
Battle-Beasts: A friend gave me a few of these when I was in High School from his childhood collection. I have since wanted to collect them all, but it would take a lot of time and money.

on a related note, I spent a lot of time in college acquiring NES games that I had always dreamed of as a kid. It was a very unsatisfying experience considering most NES games are atrocious and/or insanely difficult.

I always liked the "Silver Hawks" figures. They were never a big hit like Thundercats, but I'm pretty sure they were the main inspiration for Marvel's Darkhawk.

I would like to get my original 12 Star Wars figures. Unfortunately, I was looking at a picture of them and I had the original vinyl-caped Jawa, which sells for thousands. I had never even heard of the cloth cape ones until the internet came about. One day I plan to pick them up used and played with on eBay.

Oh, I guess it would be cool to have my old Evil Knevil Motorcycle that would do wheelies. And my Steve Austin action figure.

When I was a kid I always wanted the Millennium Falcon but could never afford it. Maybe one day.

I had the Millennium Falcon and it was certainly one of the best toy's Kenner ever produced for that line. I have to say, though, that the AT AT walker was my favorite.

My favorite toys in the mid to late 70s, aside from my Star
Wars figures, was the Adventure People. I recently found
the safari set on ebay for around $60 and jumped on it.
Eventually I'll get the scuba set and rescue copter.

The Star Wars "Escape the Death Star" board game. I will probably track down a copy when my kids are older.

------

Transformers are kind of a trade-off these days. These days, they're not "bricks" and the robot mode actually has points of articulation. On the other hand, they're not die-cast metal anymore and even in vehicle mode, they're obviously a robot toy. Those original Autobots will always be the coolest ones, because if you don't know better, they just look like a die-cast metal car toy.
