Jack Kirby - Marvel (Fantastic Four) Dave Cockrum - Marvel (Uncanny X-Men - first series I followed of his) George Perez - Marvel (Avengers - introduction to his work) Gil Kane - DC (Green Lantern) Neal Adams - Marvel (X-Men - introduction to his work) John Byrne - Marvel (Fantastic Four - my favorite JB series) Alan Davis - Marvel (Excalibur - more or less by default) Ross Andru - Marvel (Amazing Spider-Man - introduction to his work) Jim Mooney - DC (Supergirl stories in Action Comics - classic stuff)
A few more who did super-hero work for both companies -
Bob Brown - Marvel (Daredevil - found his DC work later on) Gene Colan - Marvel (Tomb of Dracula - a perfect fit) Steve Ditko - Marvel (Amazing Spider-Man - 'Nuff Said!) Don Heck - Marvel (Iron Man - seemed to fit him best) Carmine Infantino - DC (The Flash - classic stuff) Frank Robbins - Marvel (Invaders - introduction to his work) Walt Simonson - Marvel (Thor - brilliant stuff) George Tuska - Marvel (Iron Man - my 1st Iron Man artist) Wally Wood - Marvel (Daredevil - introduction to his work)
I don't recall John Romita doing any regular super-hero work for DC. To me he's "the Spider-Man Guy"
