I always liked cyclops' original visor and how he had to open and close it by hand. I know that changed at some point, but I've never been real clear on how he worked the visor after that. Can you tell me what your understanding is of how the visor works or has worked over the years? Also, what is your favorite version?

I have no idea how it was supposed to work! Look at my issues of X-MEN, with the Cockrum designed visor, and you'll notice I often sneak one of Scott's hands up to his temple! And I far and away prefer the original.

I thought he had controls on the palms of his gloves in addition to a control on his visor.

He does, Mike. That lets him open the visor if his hands are restrained.

His "eyes motion automatically" open the visor according to this...•• Wasn't comfortable with that idea. Too many involuntary eye movements.

First time I notice some kind of hook ON the lenses, with the accompanying socket ON the rim! Somehow, the panel on the book itself blurred this detail. I imagine he has similar control buttons on the glasses and in his palm (like Spider-Man's web-shooters). When the glasses are firmly shut down, they are in no danger of opening, because the ruby quartz absorbs the eye beams energy. Do I get my No-Prize?

I think Dwayne Wayne could probably explain it. Though Thanos's explanation is probably cooler.

Also, minor point, but it seems that "eyes" should be a possessive.

Probably should have been a comma: "His eyes motion, automatically raising..."
The bit that Nathan posted: very dramatic artwork. That seems like a LOT of dialogue for that one snapshot, though. More like Scott is simply screaming, "Watch out!" instead of ... "Beautiful move, Jean--! Oh, et cetera!"
