Two more for Paul Greer's Spider-Foes collection, 8.5x11 inches, each.

And this, it would seem, brings us to the end of the Commissions List for 2011!

Awesome Ringmaster, way more menacing than he ever was in the
comic.

Very nice, JB. Both images are dripping with the respective characters. A great deal conveyed by their body language.

Congratz, Paul.

James, you beat me to it---that is exactly what I was going to say. I like them both, but the Ringmaster especially has such an aura of creepiness that I finally get why he could be a dangerous foe. His eyes, the way he is holding the whip in one hand and his hat in the other--kind of scary!

Really cool JB!

Congrats Paul!

If you don't mind me saying, what a way to end the year!! I was really looking forward to seeing your Kraven and it does not disappoint. However, this Ringmaster is absolutely my favorite of the Spider-Foes to date. He is just so...creepy. As always thanks for doing this series for me. I look forward to continuing this in 2012. I just can't describe how incredible this series is for me.

Both are spectacular, JB.  Your Kraven is always spot on.

Congrats to Paul.

••

My introduction to the Ringmaster was in INCREDIBLE HULK 3 (read at the barber shop, no less!) which had one of the creepiest openings I had ever seen in a comic story. Altho there has been a tendency to play the Ringmaster as goofy, I never forget how terrifying he was when I was 12!

Perhaps this is why, altho the character would seem to have Tim Curry written all over him, as I was drawing this piece I found myself thinking I would really like to see David Bowie play the Ringmaster.

That Kraven the Hunter is amazing.  He is my favorite Spider-Man villain. The net looks very cool; a bunch is thick squiggly lines. No it's netting.  I am thinking that those lines are much harder to render to look like netting than it looks.  A great image.

Oh, sure, now that I'm done with all of my vacation time and have a little more time through the end of the year to keep the Gallery updated. I guess I'll just have to spend my time searching the 'net for some more of those old ’70s and '80s convention sketches to add to the Gallery.
