This is cool.  I think I would've really dug you on a Pyms or Carters ongoing.

I can throw all types of superlatives at this piece but I won't. My reaction to this was just pure joy. I am just looking at my computer screen smiling like a child who had just read his first comic book. Thank you, JB. That's a hard thing to recapture.

Like everyone else has said: cool, awesome, pure joy, etc.

So, no chance of seeing you on a superhero comic down the line?

Quite stunning. Anyone have an idea to the owner of the giant finger on the left of the page?

I'll be curious to see the additional Spider-Man villains.

God, what a piece!

If THAT was fully realized in your brain before committing it to artboard one wonders you didn't get an aneurysm.

That is the best statement I've seen yet of how much fun DC/Marvel comics were in that period.

Thanks for sharing.

Every now and again, I am reminded that the first comic book artist I knew by name was John Fucking Byrne.

Nathan Greno needed something to spend all that BOLT money on, I reckon. What a fantastic piece. Outstanding.

When I saw it, I immediately thought, "It's true. Great comics never really die, so long as someone remembers them."

I should say, "so long as someone remembers them, without laying their own personal hang-ups and expectations onto them."

I'm surprised no one has figured this out yet. I was sure the proximity to Lois would be a dead giveaway, for a start!

Ahh!  I figured it was either him or Konga. :)

Glad it works for you. You may recall I mentioned that I was thinking about it, but was fearful I might end up making typical colorist mistakes and graying in something that wasn't supposed to be. (I kept wanting to draw in Elasti-Girl's arm! Such a big white space!!)

Gotta be careful with these gray tones, tho! I might get cocky and decide I want to start using COLOR!!!!

So how does this piece affect your character count tally?

Not as much as you might expect. Since I stopped counting the number of times a character appears in each commission (like multiple shots in a montage piece), and count only each commission the character appears in, groups like this don't ramp up the numbers as much as once they did.

For instance, Superman counts only once in this piece, as does Batman.

Well, that's about the most insane commission ever. Great job JB,
definitely an amazing piece. Nathan, you're a lucky man,
congratulations.

I think I speak for more than a few on these forums when I say:

I sure as heck hope that Nathan is pursuing or pitching an animated Marvel project for Disney right this minute!  Is it too much to ask for one J. Byrne to be hired as "story consultant," at the very least...?

(Another great, completely mind-blowing commission!)

Well I can't even put into words how much I am loving this.  I need to keep looking at it to digest it all!  You always seem to outdo yourself, JB!  Congratulations to Nathan!

I have to say that so far Iron Man is my favorite on the page!
